Looking for any good place to get a primer on how to choose an outdoor TV and/or housing for it. Did not see anything of the sort here, but have an area in my backyard where I would like to have a TV installed that can withstand the elements in the southeastern (non-coastal) United States. Very hard to find any information on this matter.

Honestly, as a best buy employee - go get one of their free advisor things. It's free, you don't have to commit to anything, and they can tell you all kinds of options for what you want to do. Cause yeah, the inflatable projector screen is kinda way more budget friendly, with a decent micro projector. There's SunBrite, and SkyVue and not a lot of other options. how large were you wanting?

I bought a regular $300 43” Toshiba last year and mounted it under a hard deck, but still out in the open air in South Florida. The previous people here had a Vizio up for a few years without issues, so I thought at worst I could go through 10x $300 TVs in the space of 1x “outdoor” TV. I took it off the wall when the hurricane came through, but otherwise it’s been out the whole time without issue.
