What kind of professionals are macs even for now? No cuda so that’s adobo, tensorflow and a whole host of other useful apps out. Lack of any good gpu compute in general so that’s cinema4D and other 3d rendering stuff out. Devs can Linux if they want unix and set up a better environment. You can do audio work I guess but FL and ableton run like garbage on OSX. They’ve got decent screens and finalcut so I guess ‘pro’ to Apple is just youtubers and instagrammers and bad ui designers who use sketch. who tbf seem to make more money than all of the actually pro stuff above so gently caress me right

Core Audio, Core Video and Core MIDI are strong points for pros, the rest of the OSX frameworks in general are miles ahead of what you get on windows and it results in better, more usable and pleasant applications which I think is a large part of what developers love about using macs. Things like http://openemu.org or https://www.pixelmator.com/pro/ or https://www.alfredapp.com or https://panic.com/transmit/ ..it's all so nicely designed Things sure fell apart pretty rapidly after Steve quit life though

If they improved the cooling on the 6 core mbps just a little bit and got over their hate boner for nvidia I’d be sold. Their software is not the issue for the most part.

They are still mobile gpus anyway because nvidia throttles them like mad in laptops.
