Actually, Kenny, your first answer was right, the answer is three boots. Puzzle 39: Sword Play The local king, determined to defend his kingdom from that wicked ogre, sent his to eldest sons to the court sword smith. The sword smith kept a supply of special ogre-fighters (four daggers, three swords, and two axes) locked in a chest. The two princes insisted on having the same kind of weapon. How many weapons did the sword smith have to take out of the chest to be sure he could meet the demands of the princes?

Four. Worst case scenario he pulls out one of each of the three types and then the next one has to match one of them. Cheekier answer: two, because reaching blindly into a chest full of sharp things is a dumb idea. Kinda miss the Hector puzzles...
