That scene at the end... :allears:

On the one hand, putting the development items in shops takes some of the sense of reward out of the dungeons. On the other hand, if you're not doing a completionist run and are only focusing on a couple of special weapons, you can ignore what you don't want and pump the money from the dungeons into upgrading what you're using.

It looked like some of the fire frogs were dropping recovery cubes, actually. Maybe you just needed to nicely ask "recovery cubes, please".

They did. Still a tad difficult to get into range, but it's best to let enemies ram into it for the most part.

My guess would be that the "fish" Reaverbots in the boss room are actually tadpoles. Y'know, you've got a theme, might as well go all in on it.

By the end of the video, your commentary seemed to be a second or two ahead of what was happening in the video. I'm not sure, but it seems like you might have had a minor audio desync?

Good point about the tadpoles.

Now that you mention it it does seem like there was a tiny bit of desync, but it's nothing huge.

The gold duck dies in one shot from anything after being thrown with the Lifter so it doesn't matter, really.

Also, hate to be that guy, but, "Buster Cannon".

Maybe the bird bots are trying to fight blindfolded...interesting.

If you shoot the Flutter Roll just screams as it sinks into the sea, but nothing else of interest happens (unless your karma is low enough to trigger other events)

The mosquito Reaverbot might have been intended to be used in some content that eventually got cut from the game.

And re: the twins, isn't Roll technically invulnerable too in that one mission early on where you have to escort her? It's just that having her get beat up enough (or attacking her yourself) affects her opinion of you.

Oh god, the platforming is so frustrating in this dungeon, I hated it. It's generally functional in this game, but I cannot tell you how many hours I spent in here when I was younger because I kept barely missing jumps to optional areas. Even worse was that I still had nothing but time on my hands and needed to fill in every map square.
The sower is either a sewing machine with a typo, or a piece of agricultural equipment that puts seeds in the ground. Neither option makes any sense for a water dungeon located under an oil platform, or for making the Spread Buster, but it's what we get

There's an old LP in the archives that's missing a bunch of videos and is basically a bunch of friends hanging out while videos of megaman legends 1/2 play in the background, but it does have the best thing associated with this terrible dungeon: a nightcore version of a bad 90's europop song that looped infinitely in the background while the video played extremely sped up

Santa Cat Says: Good deeds are the things to always do, just make sure someone is watching you
I think it's supposed to be the agricultural kind of sower, and no it doesn't make any sense for it to be in the dungeon. The description for it actually lampshades how odd that is. Got to hand it to Roll though, she can take farm equipment and modify it to shoot out bombs.

The first few aren't all that costly, and I was just doing it for the challenge, but if you think about it there is KIND OF a reason not to take any Life-Ups. Consider that you've got a full bar of health. In MML you can never be killed in one hit, so an attack could do 10 damage or 100 damage, you'd be left with one HP. Now when you use the Energy Canteen, the number of points consumed is the number of HP healed and you always heal back to full health with the canteen. So with 10 Max HP, healing myself from 1 HP costs 10 Energy Canteen points, but with only 5 Max HP, it costs only 5. Therefore, if everything takes you down to 1 HP anyways, it costs less from the canteen to recover, if you have only 5 Max HP.

That was probably really confusing, so uh, yes, self-imposed challenge. I mean I haven't used any armor either, but typically I don't need armor until the end of the game, so I can save money by waiting for the best armor to become available, since in MML2 you can skip straight to the best upgrade available.

Anyways, where were we?

I mean, from a technical standpoint, the Servbots and Birdbots are sapient AIs, or at least have a decent chance of passing the Turing test. That's pretty drat smart. Reaverbots might not have that kind of independent decision-making capability.

Also, the Reaverbots in that dungeon were obviously built off of Skyrim's AI; they cannot jump. At all.

The big ol' Reaverbot boss looks more Xenomorph than saurian, at least to me.

IMPORTANT: I mention it in the video but I'll say it here: I may have to put this LP on hold for awhile. This is because my disc is scratched to the point that it won't let me progress past the boss of this dungeon. Meaning that continuing is impossible. I can see if I have a save somewhere on my cards saved right after the boss, or I can get a save from someone for emulators and play off that instead. I'll think of something. Just don't be surprised if I take a break or something.

That glitch you mention in the video which allows you to equip any item as a Buster Part reminds me of a glitch from FF6 that allowed you to equip basically any item. The best hat was a drill, IIRC.

If you have a softmodded PS2 or a memory card adapter for PS3 you should be able to transfer the LP save file over to your PC (or PS3) and continue there.

The basic idea is that you use an Action Replay or similar disc to trick the PS2 into running a disc that will put the exploit onto your PS2 memory card. I'm on my tablet right now, but I'll see what I can find on it when I have access to my PC.
