The thing about C-SPAM, much less keeping up with the news as a whole, is that you start to lose hope. You start to bet against the human condition, and you become a fatalist against civilized society. As realistic and well mannered as this might be, this isn't an effective viewpoint for creating meaningful change. I've spent too many years in poverty being a drunk, a sleazeball, a fuckup. For way too many years than I've ever deserved. I drunkenly stumbled my way into a better place than I could have ever imagined before getting over my own bullshit and taking myself out of the picture. While I may agree to some degree that all hope is lost, we should do our best to inspire some degree of passion, and inspiration, in our fellow C-SPAMmers, especially those younger than us - I'm running into 30 faster than I imagined and it's a scary concept to consider. The heroes before us, both here in America and across the pond, and elsewhere around the world, have put their souls and their bodies on the land fighting for values that are just and true, and quite frankly, we should learn from them and keep fighting on in order to impress these values upon future generations. So I wanted to make a genuine thread to pay tribute to them and those who have sacrificed for a better world. Let us celebrate our victories, as limited as they may be. And more importantly, let us celebrate the times that we were right, in the faces of unspeakable yet unified evil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH2SoytxgVg They've got a manifesto of misery and we've got a manifesto of hope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReY4yVkoDc4 Theresa May Presents: Where's The Money for Grenfell? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XXEHZsAkR0 First American Presidential Candidate to ever ask, "Who benefits from this exploitation?" This is such a monumental moment of importance that quite frankly, I'm ashamed it hasn't gotten more coverage. Especially in the nightmares that have followed. We exist in a time of great leaders and greater movements, in contrast to an unyielding oblivion the billions of us are being forced down against our will, without any debate much less consideration as War Criminal Kissinger lives out his last days in luxury and peace. I want this thread to be a place that in our all succ and desperation, to document how humanity will fight on in the face of unspeakable evil. If order as we know it snaps, I cannot rest now knowing that the people across this nation don't know the ideals, the values, and greater peace we are willing to suffer and die for in order to ensure that the Bezos' and Cruzs' of the world can ride this out smiling. Out here, in this dead and dying comedy forum, we are better people. And we should celebrate the ideals and values worth dying for before everything is stripped away from us. So please, do share the blessed C-SPAM images and videos that inspire you to fight another day in an age of irreverence. no war but class war https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16BtpSCufU0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh_sxilhyV0 The heroes we do not deserve.
