In many parts of the world they don't call camels "camels." Instead, they call them whatever the word for "camel" is in their language.

I only have canyoneyes for you
my 3 year old says "cam-a-mel" with an extra syllable and tbh i think that should be the official way to distinguish one humped camels from their two humped camamel cousins.

contrast that to the south american camelid, the guanaco. it's name comes from the quechua word for "goon" because it has no humps.

The easiest way to tell a dromedary from a bactrian camel is to look at the humps. There, you will either find the word 'dromedary' or 'bactrian' written in crayon.

Camels aren't really "ships of the desert", they're just pirates.

Those eyes! That hair! You're like a movie star! I must take your picture!
A camel that eats another camel is a "cammibal."

It hasn't been observed that camels drink from their humps with a straw, but we know they do. We know they do.

A camel's hump is not full of water. It contains fat, and camels are quite sensitive about it, so the less said about it the better.

Dedicate one day each week with your camel to discuss this sensitive topic with care and respect.
