I think thats the biggest thing thats been hammered home now Mean Gene was an announcer/interviewer but he was a character. WWE just makes everyone not a wrestler a faceless interchangable piece so we'll never get another Mean Gene or even anyone who can at least grow into an actual personality of their own.

One thing I love about some of his interviews is that he was seemingly normal level headed perspective guy in this colorful world of crazy coked up characters while the Warrior or Savage or Hogan are going on a bender of a promo. He could also sell it as a legit sport with his style and promo. I think he's a key guy who made the entire Pro Wrestling world properly sold.
