Sorry, Grammarchist! In looking back on your post it seems like the comic you remember is in a different issue. There's definitely still lots of Star Fox action to be had in this one, though!

Points of discussion:
- George & Rob should be fired
- Star Fox at 60fps is unnatural
- Terry Bogard: Origins
- Pocky & Rocky is WAY harder than I remembered
- Nester's edgy space adventures
- a look back on Battletech centers
- James Bond Jr looks too good to be on the NES
- oh no, Star Fox self-insert OCs
- there was a Ducktales 2?
- in this stream we support e-sports in Yoshi's Cookie
- C•A•M•P ROLLERBLADE OOOO
- the hunt for Stephen Miller begins

I love the thread idea. I had a NP subscription back in the day, during the second year so I missed the first few but still got in when it was every two months instead of monthly. And when reading the table of contents for this thread I saw exactly what I wanted to see.

Episode #10: Vol 23

- Power Blade answers the age-old question "What if Mega Man had a boomerang?"
- wishing Totally Rad didn't make us look at Zebediah Pong
- jumping through random levels in TMNT II: The Arcade Game
- YO SWORD MASTER IS THE GREATEST NES GAME EVER MADE
- a quick read about English game developers
- make sure you bring your bionic buddy when playing with S.C.A.T.
- gotta show off that Game Boy R-Type
- why did Game Boy Bubble Bobble rate so low?
- Jeremy Miller's celebrity profile
- very important reasons why you should not import a Super Famicom
I loved Power Blade as a kid, and was sort of ok at it when I played it with an emulator later. Yeah, you kind of hobbled yourself by going to stage 5 instead of stage 1, and you didn't bother to do a little grinding to get the best boomerangs. The boomerangs have 3 power levels, and 4 range levels, and Nova can throw up to three at once.

As for why in the far future of 21** humanity's final hope is Duke Nukem with boomerangs? I have no idea.

Oh and Power Blade 2 was trash.

I know it's been a good long while since this episode, but I'm just catching up through the episodes to say Sword Master remains one of my favorite games, even if playing at speedrun speed causes severe strain on my hands. The UP + SELECT + START function is often mislabeled as a start at the end code, but it's actually a debug boss rush mode. The actual level seven has different music and different monsters on it- I believe the debug map uses the music of the last map you were playing. There's also a free play command for infinite retries which helps out a lot at first: I think DOWN + SELECT + START sounds about right.

You might be interested to know that there is a double jump and potentially a triple in game, but it's incredibly hard to do thanks to the refresh rate on a NTSC copy.

Had a Nintendo Power subscription from when I was just a small kid all the way until they eventually shut down. They were always the highest quality gaming magazine, if you ask me.

Points of discussion:
- Player's Pulse reveals a cancelled N64 game
- listening to 90% of the soundtrack in Bomberman Hero
- I just want to shoot Turok 2's cerebral bore
- playing presumably a boss character in King of Fighters 95
- how many URLs does Nintendo still own?
- a brief interview with Miyamoto about Ocarina of Time
- would Cheech and/or Chong please report to this look at Gex 64?
- Undertaker takes a long dirt nap in WWF War Zone

dude sword master rocked my rear end so hard i immediately looked up a speedrun. it's unfortunate that the game is so... linear. i love it, but not enough to want to speedrun it. but yeah! i did see that there were double jumps. even pulled off a few myself off stream.
