I played every major PS3 and 360 game and all I remember is grey and brown, with the red of Kratos' blades and the purple of Master Chief's guns to break up the monotony of the grey brown blur.

I'd love Tony Hawk 1 but with birds, but the skating still has to feel good edit: I still kind of can't believe how good Tony Hawk 1 and 2 were. Like I could not have given less of a poo poo about skateboarding. But drat if those games weren't fun as hell.

yeah I wouldn't necessarily say its sloppy in a bad way (except the camera controls which need some work), its just where tony hawk is a game about a professional skater very professionally and precisely skating around a park, skatebird is a game about a bird on a skateboard and its a little shakier because birds don't belong on skateboards!! it kind of skirts being a joke game without going as far as being surgeon simulator or whatever it is very very explicitly evoking tony hawk though, except where TH was extremely discrete in the way grinds and verts and stuff worked, skatebird relies a bit more on physics and is a little less predictable

this showed up in my recommended videos and it's real cute. I knew Banjo-Kazooie did really well in Japan for a western game but I didn't realize it's so well known that many streamers there know and have played it(they at least know Gruntilda, Jinjos, Jiggies, etc at a glance) and seeing people or their avatars(facerig and similar programs are real big there) go nuts is great. "BANKAZA? BANKAZA???!!! BANJO!!!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-YbgFu0oFM&hd=1 there's a million reaction videos for it out there, some guy just put up an hour and a half compilation of JUST reactions to the BK trailer from mostly english speakers, and pretty much everyone is excited for Banjo and Kazooie. I am too, but also, I am excited that so many people are excited because this hopefully means either A: remasters are in the works similar to the Spyro and Crash remasters or B: more Banjo-Kazooie games. gimme them collectathons. Or Nuts and Bolts 2, which will never happen, but I can dream.

I love watching people react to Smash videos; for some reason (a lot of reasons I guess) nothing gets just genuine honest moments of excitement out of people like Smash character announcements. Nintendo direct reacts or extremely cringe reacts (Bethesda this year was a goldmine for that) are great for opposite reasons. Nintendo for the genuine hype and Bethesda etc for the spite. It was kind of a bummer when nobody I saw except vinesauce vinny recognized seiken densetsu 3 and that they're remaking it to boot. That was one I always wanted to try but couldn't get my hands on until many years later and without a translation so I wound up giving up pretty quickly. I really can't wait to get a switch, but I also kinda want to wait for whatever new thing they're making if it's a super switch or something.

I love watching the various streamers or youtubers, Shofu, Zero, Rogersbase, Esam, Easy Allies, etc, and always the NYC reaction because it's always so genuinely excited. Shofu though, my dude, you need a different mic or an equalizer or something. His mic is not made for Smash reactions I really like Elspeth's reaction (and the reaction afterwards to Breath of the Wild 2). None of the other three are big Nintendo fanboys and they CERTAINLY aren't Smash fans, so they had Elspeth on specifically for her to bring the hype (and she did, the entire Direct). Rogersbase I'd never heard of until I saw him in a highlights reel where he was so crazy excited for banjo and brought out a fuckin banjo plushie, it was adorable. There's just something about Nintendo that just creates this adoration unlike any other. Now if only they could stop letting ancient mummies make all their business decisions like how their online system works, they'd be even better.
