Oh, hi girls. Tom Cruise here.
Soiled Meat
This is the thread for all the football fan TV stuff, which is a really big deal right now for some reason.

These are the fan channels I know about, but post your own writeups about others and I might edit them into this OP if I can get round to it.

AFTV, which was called Arsenal Fan TV before Arsenal sent a cease and desist because they found it embarrassing. They’re probably more responsible than anyone for the popularity of fan channels and they like to say ‘fam’ and ‘blud’ a lot. I’ve heard people say DT hit his wife, but I couldn’t find anything on Google about it.

These are the AFTV moments that get quoted the most on this forum:

True Geordie is an outspoken Newcastle fan who attracted attention in 2019 when some explicit DMs got leaked. He went through a huge bout of depression over it, but bounced back in spectacular fashion:

Mark Goldbridge, real name Brent Di Cesare (yes really), runs The United Stand. A mix of Alan Partridge and David Brent that covers Man United, but ESPN reporters with a chip on their shoulder say he’s really a Nottingham Forest fan:

You can find Goldbridge’s best moments on the Goldbridge World Twitter, which include these highlights:

Decent match previews, press round ups, after match fan cams and some quality interviews dotted through including with Giggs, Neville, Meulensteen etc. There's also a regular podcast.

Steven Howson and Stretford Paddock
A regular on FTD, also runs his own content on his channel and with Stretford Paddock, Howson is probably my favourite United fan channel/broadcaster right now. Good regular shows and previews, has a good "5 things we learned" feature, has contacts at the club especially in the youth system. Worth a watch for any United fans imo.

The double talking head shows McKola and Howson do are usually good and funny.

Two Liverpool ones of note:

The Redmen TV
These guys are the OG fan channel, so I guess they are to blame for the rest of this mess. They started during the Hicks/Gillett years with some real cringeworthy stuff, but have since developed into the fan channels we all know and love today.

The Anfield Wrap
TAW are more professional than any of the fan channels I've seen, which is helped by most of them being ex-Liverpool Echo/Radio City staff/presenters. Honestly they are really, really good. The variety of shows they put out is phenomenal, they have regular shows with guests from other teams, and their general off-football AFQ shows are hilarious.

Was this the thing where they had two fans of opposing teams watch the game together? I also thought that was pretty funny.

There's a thing called Hotmic which is kind of doing the same thing - they're getting fan channels (or at least TAW) to commentate on their games. I just did it for the Spurs game and it worked really well, it uses your phone to sync the commentary to the crowd noise and then away it goes. Considering a lot of the fan channels are friends I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of fan zone equivalent happening.

Howson video from August 2018 talking about the U18s, was pretty spot on about Williams and Greenwood, potentially Garner and Laird too.

He's a pretty good source for academy/reserves information if that's your thing.

Can United fans confirm that United We Stand were chasing around Anfield trying to find non-Scouse Liverpool fans to prove some bizarre point?

I cannot because that channel sucks OP but it wouldn't surprise me. It's like Redcafe in video form.

I think so yeah. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3_HLbJhhNI Somewhere out there is the one for the 8-2 game and the Ciy 1-6 one which were quite good. Were they both as well in the same season? What a loving mad one that was

Interesting chat with City legend Shaun Goater about his time in the United academy, what City was like during his time there in the pre take over days and a really funny bit about Keegan I'm gonna time stamp and stick in the videos thread as well.
