ya know i've never had problems with usb 2 or 3 ports on my computers, but these usb-c/thunderbolt ports are touchy as heck

god usb-c is so bad and it confuses me how. USB 2/3 just works, period. USB-C to HDMI on my macbook would randomly just not work and display static, or would run at 30hz. USB-C to Ethernet would randomly hard-lock the system. E: That was with a 3rd party HDMI adapter, the first party one wouldn't work with my monitor at all period.

thing that is good about it : sons laptop chrome book charges via usbc now it has a proper 40w charger sure but if he forgot it it will charge from a boring 5v usb charger with usbc cable it’ll just charge slowly and not while used that single use case is only worthwhile case

love that they took one of the best things about usb (just plug it in anywhere) and hosed it up by having special ports that do DP/Lightning over usb-c my heart goes out to all the cjs out there who have to explain to the c-levels which usb c port they have to plug the dongle into every day now probably
