Do you like scary movies?

I know I posted some of these in the old horror shorts threads so might as well post them here for easy viewing.

"No Through Road" was pretty good, if only because boonie cruising was something I did with friends a lot and this really captures that vibe.

Wa...ter?
I loved stuff like Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Creepshow as a kid, so I made a short with an attempt at that "feel" recently

CURIOSITY OF GEESE

My favorite meat is hot dog, by the way. That is my favorite meat. My second favorite meat is hamburger. And, everyone says, oh, don’t you prefer steak? It’s like, I know steaks are great, but I like hot dog best, and I like hamburger next best.
I'm looking for a particular horror short that i just can't find at anywhere.

A man and woman are in a backyard. The woman goes into a trance, maybe some sort of astral projection(?), and is also in a forest where she watches a demon-lady tending a fresh grave. The man keeps interrogating the medium for info about where the body is. Everything goes to poo poo when the demon lady begins to hunt the medium in the projection, at least until the man is able to pull her out.

I'm pretty sure it was only hosted on vimeo. I think it had a short, strange name... Regardless, it was linked through the forums, but I still can't find it anywhere. Any leads?

“Cutting Moments” by Douglas Buck.

It’s a gory mess with FX by Tom Savini. The story of a wife trying to stop her husband from molesting their child. According to the behind the scenes, Douglas Buck listened to PJ Harvey’s “Rub it Till it Bleeds” while showering every morning during film school and thought up the story.

It was released in a trilogy of shorts called “Family Portraits: Trilogy of America” but you can find it all over the internet. The whole trilogy is worth watching if you don’t mind lower budget films. I really enjoyed the last episode “Prologue,” a bleak short with zero gore but plenty of disturbing themes.

Trigger Warning for all his stuff (outside of his later Troma work.) lots of themes around abuse, molestation, assault, rape and family dysfunction; though thankfully most is not shown on screen. Cutting Moments does have some spectacularly uncomfortable gore that they don’t cut away from nearly quick enough.

I was back in Chicago a few years ago and happened upon a late night show on public access called Sinema Obscura, which showcased short films and music videos from local Chicago artists. Lots of great/weird horror shorts to be found.

It reminds me of another short film I can't remember the name of. A guy installs a new door to an outside entrance, and then realizes that it's always night outside that one entrance. I tried searching for it, and ironically all the results are for Lights Out.

Time has no meaning, so I'm here to say that LifeLynx was thinking of The French Doors

Hell yeah, thanks! Such a simple concept to film and it's so creepy it stuck with me for years.

I must post one of my favorite short films, the classic 1972 horror short about a man who gets trapped in a phone booth: “La Cabina.” (35 minutes)

edit: better quality version but no subtitles, but there’s so little dialogue it doesn’t really need them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H1_p6B4Ugo
