I had a friend whose brother leveled for 3 days straight. Only getting up to eat and go potty. His eyes adjusted to the computer monitor and he had to have a bandage wrapped around his eyes in order for them to heal, he felt extreme pain if he tried to focus on anything else except the computer monitor. He had to be blind for about 2 weeks. He never played again. Just kidding. He was playing 3 weeks later.

Sad. I have a gently caress ton of great EverQuest memories from 1999 all the way to last month. The game isn’t the same anymore but it is fun to log in every so often and run through the old zones.

gently caress that game was my childhood. Took me forever to get my t1.5 gear... got so angry at all the bards kiting giants and getting easy xp... loving 98% res rolling back 2 hours of grinding... gently caress I miss Highkeep. I always tried to help pickclaws that tried to bumrush the front gate so it created havok inside the zone and all the mid levels grinding in the basement. So much noble spam...

I just googled this guy and he wasn't the creator of EverQuest or even involved in the original game at all, he was just one of 12 world builders/designers in the The Ruins of Kunark DLC expansion. https://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/everquest-the-ruins-of-kunark/credits STOLEN VALOR (It still sucks that he died tho)

I was playing Diablo and D2 and actually having fun when EQ was popular, but I can respect a game that ruined countless marriages and college careers. That guy basically figured out how to send a crack addiction over the internet. drat.
