I could maybe stay away from a computer for 1-2 days if I’m out in the woods or something. need to do that again soon.

if you count multi-hop flights, living in london + being from NZ made 30+ hours a regular occurence (common for lots of kiwis) love when some rear end in a top hat is drunk on the plane in London and has to be escorted off so your flight is late into dubai and you miss your connecting flight to sydney so have to stay in shithole dubai overnight untill the next one. then your total time becomes like 60 hours Before the 'rona, I used to travel all the time. I really miss going to actual cities with poo poo going on and cultures that are less white-bread than NZ but my lifestyle before was loving ridiculous and environmentally irresponsible. it will be interesting to see what happens after covid settles down and if we'll ever go back to that level of comnmercial travel again. probably, because capitalism

what kind of drunk do you have to be to get escorted off a plane anyway? i am pretty sure the airlines are perfectly happy with both sober and passed out, so that must be some specific in-between

I've done Auckland to Houston, and Auckland to LA, and Auckland to Vancouver. Connecting on to other airports afterwards. Honestly the overnighters are way more tolerable than the ones that are obnoxiously long, but not long enough to sleep on. At least if your boss is paying and so you can get a lie-flat bed.

Sometimes, I think about my grandparents, who went their whole lives without ever using a computer.
