I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and I just pulled it up with the toilet plunger.

Picking a mental health care professional is hard. I've spoken with three and they were all nice.

I hope you’re able to find some good help. FWIW I picked someone because their website mentioned they specialised in anxiety problems, which was what I felt was bothering me. My GP advised me that it may take two or three different psychologists before I found one I was comfortable with, and that this was totally normal. Best of luck, and feel free to drop me a pm if you need it.

I had a few sessions with the work provided person but that wasn't a long term solution. But she matched me with these people based on what we've briefly discussed. I don't know what my problem is so that's making it a bit hard to choose.

My employer's EAP offers 5 free phone sessions a year, and you can "request a new counselor" at any time.. but you can't choose them. I've used the 5, not sure how much it is after that. I'm sure it's affordable. It.... kinda helped? I think I'm going to reach back out to the EAP to get an in-person psychiatrist going - I hate antidepressants, but I think I'm at the point that I need them for a bit. Depression and anxiety have been hammering me into the ground pretty bad lately. I know some of the reasons, but I've been so drat close to just packing up the essentials (clothes, tools, cat, computer), giving the rest away, and driving back to Dallas and taking over my parents' guest bedroom for a bit, until I can find a job up there (my employer doesn't exist in DFW except for a couple of their high end stores, and they don't have any full time spots open up there). Surprisingly, work is what's keeping me grounded right now. I work with some amazing people (and a couple that... aren't). My coworkers keep me (somewhat) sane. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 16:07 on Aug 31, 2020 |

Taking a break from packing, I just broke down my home theater and packed the final kitchen stuff. All that is left is to break down my computer desk, which I'll do tonight, and finish packing the garage, which is about 75% done. Super excited to see if the two man crew I hired for tomorrow can jam everything in the pod in 2 hours, or if I'll have to pack a bunch of it on my own. Today gonna be busy: Pod is scheduled for delivery between 12 and 3. HVAC contractor scheduled between 1 and 3. Foundation contractor finally got back to me and scheduled for 4. My overall scheduling got a little weird, so if I get the pod packed tomorrow, I have nothing to do until I sign closing documents on Thursday, and leave Friday morning. I guess I want to schedule a final walk through on wednesday to make sure the new owner is satisfied and is for sure going to sign off on the place. I'd hate to get a call Friday afternoon as I'm driving through Boise telling me that there's some issue that wasn't done to her satisfaction and I have no money coming until I deal with it. Anyway, I haven't been this motivated to just knock stuff out for a very long time. Rhyno posted:I don't know what my problem is so that's making it a bit hard to choose. Sounds to me almost like success guilt. Kind of like survivors guilt, how survivors of a disaster where other people die feel guilty for living? Only for you it's surviving your environment and succeeding. Or wait, didn't someone else here mention the term "imposter syndrome"? Where you feel like a fraud, like someone is going to discover you don't belong in your own life, and you'll lose your job and wife and house and all that? I'm fascinated by things like that but too dumb to know what to do about it either. Good luck with the search, we found a great therapist for my daughter early on, and they've developed a bond that really lets my daughter open up and stay healthy.

It's basically a joke with nurses. If a guy tells triage that he stepped out and needs to be tested, they ask us to order the swab. (We do not. I only use a swab if there's copious discharge and I want to do a wet prep to look for Trich, and that doesn't necessitate actually sticking the swab up in there.)

LOL of course the HVAC guy condemned my furnace, he won't even do the things I asked him to do. So the buyer is getting a new furnace. Fortunately I bought the "home systems protection" rider on my condo insurance which means it only costs me a grand. I half expected this but it doesn't make me happy.

Yeah gently caress that you got away cheap. Labor alone to do poo poo could have cost you that much. Plus you actually got your money's worth with the insurance and now the buyer is happy and you can tell them to gently caress off with the home warranty.

Since we're on the topic of houses, anyone have a recommendation on where to buy blinds/shades? I checked out a few generic sites and was looking at $50/window for the smaller windows in our house and $100+ for the larger. Kinda painful with 6 large and 20 smaller windows. Last I remember looking it was 1/2 this.

Last I remember looking it was 1/2 this. It varies a lot by size. Going from 60" length to 72" length increases the price by about 1/3. Likewise any width not between 24" and 36" Part of the problem is almost all blinds come from China now, and the global supply chain is still borked. Anything you find in stock is going to be more expensive than they were pre-Covid, and if you have to order it's going to take a good 2-3 months to get them. Reference: I paid right at $100 a pop for 12 35x84 Home Depot faux plantation blinds, cherry picking from 3 stores. They had them as low as $63 a pop online and order-to-store, but on indefinite backorder. This was after ordering through a well advertised online site with blinds and dot com in their name who 'guaranteed' delivery in 30 days for $75 each. On day 31 they decided that they didn't know when they would get around to my blinds, maybe this fall. Goober Peas fucked around with this message at 22:32 on Aug 31, 2020 |

Half my house now has these: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/trippevals-black-out-cellular-blind-light-gray-30336906/ When they go on sale, they're easily the cheapest option.

We spent several months of mortgage payments on window treatments so I am probably not the best person to ask. But Norman blinds are really nice.
