They're awkward for sure, but they're a weirdly interesting part of Tony Hawk games for me. Like, even with his name on the cover and a good bit of all the characters going "Holy poo poo, it's Tony Hawk!" his games do make a point to include a whole bunch of the other big names in skateboarding. Guys who definitely don't have the clout to have their own game, but they get an appearance, name drop, and the requisite fawning about how cool they are. It's a nice bit of sharing the spotlight and trying to make these games a face for "skateboarding culture" rather than just Tony Hawk himself.

It's a shame you guys couldn't get a copy of the Collector's Edition to show off the other two levels, but you guys did a good job on this. I had forgotten how much of a step back the game's story mode feels compared to THUG2 (and even THUG1 in some ways), and it's really frustrating how you get tutorials/standard trick unlocks up until almost the end of the game. It also sucked how much smaller the Classic Mode was, even if you include the two extra levels from the CE. If you are crazy enough to do Project 8 in the future, I wonder if you will still feel like it's a good game once you revisit it. It's not bad, but the emphasis on ragdoll physics and the missions relating to them make things extremely aggravating. And thank you very much for the shoutout at the end. I guess we're now in a race to see who will finish THUG2 first, eh?
