yep. big social media ain't the one being owned, infact, only growing in power.

a pretty loving damning tell btw is always follow the money. many many years ago google/wikipedia/etc was doing some lobbying and used to run giant banners across the top of the page trying to scare users when net neutrality was on the line because it would have affected their bottom-line at the time -- at least in theory. Facebook marky-z/twitter jacky-d and all those people aren't running top-line banners trying to scare people and influence anything and stamping ":FAKE NEWS:" labels (ala election trump) this time around. They aren't making GBS threads their pants and quickly donating to schumers et al. Their share prices aren't dropping in speculation of it impacting them. they're just idly sitting by because they're going to come out ahead in one way or another. likely after using their army of lawyers to help obliterate small competition that can't afford them, gobbling up the rest, and then doing Paid Curated Content Club Subscriptions of Mark Zuckerberg Seal of Approval Content For the Public

it would be a pretty big boon for existing big media to consolidate and control the flow under guise of Safe Moderated Content under the caring and loving gaze of jack dorsey

Pretty sure they're doing none of that because trump won't be president soon enough that it doesn't matter and everyone will immediately forget it was an idea

it would be kinda funny if trump's last act would be causing sa to close down just a few months after it was bought from lowtax

I had an amazing meeting with Mr Lowtax, who was treated very unfairly by CSPAM

Also Trump tried to force the issue by trying to attaching it to the military funding bill, and even if the GOP is the party of Trump there are still enough in there loyal to their donors and military contractor friends to ever vote against that, and the social media companies knew it.
