Problem description: For a couple weeks, Steam was giving me an error every time I rebooted or woke the computer up from sleep, claiming too many invalid password errors. I changed my password and it started giving me a more consistent error: "Could not connect to the Steam network." This error comes and goes, but seems impossible to get rid of entirely. Attempted fixes: Disabled firewall. Launched steam with -tcp command line option. Deleted \package folder in Steam directory (this works once and forces Steam to redownload updates, but on next boot it errors out again). Opened store.steampowered.com in browser, confirming it's not an ISP issue. Forwarded all needed ports on router. Uninstalled Dashlane VPN. Disabled GeForce and Razr apps (no effect). Recent changes: I just reinstalled Windows entirely to get rid of the error, with no success. Operating system: Windows 10 System specs: Intel CPU, NVIDIA GPU, two internal SSDs + one internal HDD + 5 external drives. More details as relevant Location: USA I have Googled and read the FAQ: Yes

Update: Completely reinstalled Steam in new folder. I don't know if that fixed it, but I fixed it.
