I recently purchased a comma two and installed openpilot and thought there might be enough interest in the project to have its own thread. From the project's Github page: What is openpilot? openpilot is an open source driver assistance system. Currently, openpilot performs the functions of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automated Lane Centering (ALC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) for a growing variety of supported car makes, models and model years. In addition, while openpilot is engaged, a camera based Driver Monitoring (DM) feature alerts distracted and asleep drivers. The results are pretty impressive given the price, and it retrofits older vehicles (as long as they have the prerequisite equipment of ACC and ALC/Lank Keep Assist(LKA)) to perform as well or better than a lot of Level 2 OEM driver assistance syetems. Has anyone else on here used it?

Hey there, I got a Comma 3X a week ago and it's been a nice experience so far. My car does not have the best torque when steering, so I help out a bit it the tight corners. I am trying out the experimental longitudinal control now as well. I wish it would recognise potential bumps on the road, like pot holes and manhole lids. So far I'm intervening and leading it around it, testing if it will ever learn. I hope to get a SIM card soon so I can try navigation and the comma prime subscription.

Wow, that's a hell of a thread bump. Helbing posted:I wish it would recognise potential bumps on the road, like pot holes and manhole lids. Maybe reporting some of these might help or at least show some desire. Actually, that's the keyword: desire. It's supposed to drive the most desired path (and influenced by navigation if on). If it's not doing that, you should report that. Helbing posted:I hope to get a SIM card soon so I can try navigation and the comma prime subscription. It should come with a SIM card already. If you're outside the US, try tethering first and maybe the cheaper non-SIM Comma Lite subscription. crazysim fucked around with this message at 17:40 on Sep 8, 2023 |
