A night full of drama. Definitely Eriksen's collapse struck the Danes more than it did Finns on an emotional level and that probably gave the necessary advantage to win this game. But still. First game, first win! Draw with Russia, lose 2 - 0 to Belgium. Belgium beats Denmark. Hellooo-oo!

First half over, Finland is down 0-1. Well, this is pretty much what I expected. Russia doing the offence and Finland trying to build counter-attacks. This has been pretty even, too bad Russia was the scoring side.

Alright, it's time for a clobbering. Finland doesn't necessarily need to win against Belgium, a draw might be just enough to get us through to the knockout phase. Unfortunately Belgium, despite winning both of their matches, is bringing out Kevin de Bruyne and other stars off the shelf for this match. This is gonna be a toughie.

Unless a miracle happens in terms of the third-placers, Finland basically crashed out of the tournament. Our defensive tactic worked until the 2nd period, then reality lashed out at us. We just didn't have enough skills and cohesion to have a winning team. Our win against Denmark was basically a freak fluke. Also lol 1 shot per game.

tbf the realistic outcome before this started was losing every game 0-2/3 and going home with a harsh reality check. The last part still holds true, but I actually have some hopes with the upcoming generations of players. There's been a pretty determined push to get our player development to an internationally high level.
