Dogs either like you or they don't, and most dogs like most people. Cats are lot more choosy about who they like, and getting one to like you takes a bit of effort sometimes. My cat avoided me for the first two months I had him. At this point, years later, he follows me around everywhere when I'm at home, even sitting on my lap 90% of the time I'm pooping
