R5. Shadows of Rose, Part 5 Rose's adventure ends with her facing down, uh, Ethan's greatest enemies. And she learns to accept herself, gross mold sweat and all. It's a bit on the dumb side. And with that, we formally bid Resident Evil Village adieu. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to watch, and I hope you enjoyed!

Oof, this was perennially confused on what it wanted to do both mechanically and narratively. On the one hand the mold powers got haphazardly grafted onto the RE7/RE8 combat system. And then just...replaced it in the lovely final boss fight. And on the other hand the writers couldn't weave together the threads of -Rose's trauma (new to DLC), -Miranda wanting her hyperspecific vision of her daughter (RE8), and Eveline wanting her hyperspecific vision of her family (RE7). Come on Capcom, you could have done better than this if you'd bothered.

Yeah, I'm incredibly let down by this, because it just crosses the line into new development, but it never goes beyond "get a voice actor in the booth for one day and design around it". And then that goddamn ending! I'm still mad about that ending on a lot of levels.

I didn't really follow this LP because from watching some video of the first parts it seemed to be a sequel to RE VII which I haven't gotten around to playing yet. (Sorry.)
