the boss said we have to post more threads so here's one

my girlfriend doesn't actually like running much but has put running a marathon on her bucket list so now i've been roped into training for a marathon sometime next year. i've got a half marathon booked for the end of january (in richmond park which is pretty nice) so i've been trying to do a bit of preparation in between stuffing my face with mince pies etc.

here's were i went http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7631184 please don't kidnap/assassinate me now you know where my running route is lol.
my phone says that that route has 223m of elevation - i've been trying to get more elevation into my routes and also have started running mostly on tarmac instead of mostly grass as i do in summer because the grass gets muddy as poo poo in winter around here.

it had already dropped dark before i went and the route went up into some quiet rural roads. it was a warm muggy night, misty and you would see lights off in the distance occasionally as well as strange auras caused by patches of light pollution from the roads, towns, airports etc. i saw a deer and caught its eyes in my head torch. i didn't take any pictures because i was, like, running along, but also my shorts don't have pockets big enough for a phone so i was carrying it in my camelbak

i was listening to this playlist while running - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6aMkaRGHjmfcT7IB6vUIuy?si=38755a93efd444bd - and the misty lights were oddly disco like. i got a decent bit of cardio especially at the start as it had some quite tough hills in the first couple of km but the limiting factor ended up being my hosed up nerd knees hopefully they will toughen up by the time i've got to go like that far plus another 8km

is anyone else doing any winter running?!

my normal route is on grass (around the town common) but the soil here is clay and it goes completely to poo poo in winter. normally i go cycling instead of running in winter but this time i'm being forced into winter running

We're sealing the tunnel!
I'm too fat to run.
Hell, I'm too fat to walk.
I'm fat.

Great work OP, you've made me feel lazy

I was getting back into a running routine but have had extra work for the past few weeks which has knocked me out so my free time is spent either dozing off or complaining about not being able to doze off.

After Christmas I'll get back into it - hopefully with a new fitness watch! Get back to Parkruns and burn off my lockdown podge

I'm doing a 4km sea swim on new years day for charity - goodbye testicles
