Ok request time. I remember reading a book when I was a kid. It was a series of (the same) cutouts of a hotel or big house that changed over time. The only thing I can really remember is that early on you can see something approaching in the sky and it turns out to be a UFO that these aliens get out of - while there are all sorts of shenanigans happening in the building. That's ...all I have to go on. Maybe an alien looked a bit like a ..horse? With tentacles? I dunno. It was over 30 years ago. Also this thread rocks. Friend of mines brother has drawing cutouts as a job (has done a lot of the star wars ones). Awesome.
