I'm just a sick guy, I'm really just a dirty guy.
my apologies for getting this out later than I wanted. it took a bit of time to clean and tally the results! still out in less time than the Observer, probably, at a much smaller scale, so it might actually be worse. this year we had 40 entries, and I’ll go through them a day at a time so we don’t make these posts a million words long. If i messed anything up, I’m sorry, I’m just a big ol’ glutton for punishment, please yell at me. For Category B awards, the last number is the total of votes received. For Category A awards, first place votes will be in parentheses next to the total points with ties being broken by first-place results. all-time results from 14 years of PSP/WH2K awards are in the second post and will be updated as well. let’s get the big show, no more BS, on the road! first up will be some of the worst “Category B” awards to get some of the crud out of the way early.

WORST MATCH OF THE YEAR
1. BECKY LYNCH VS. BIANCA BELAIR, WWE SUMMERSLAM 7
2. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton, WWE Wrestlemania Night 2 4
T3. Alexa Bliss vs. Randy Orton, WWE Fastlane 2
T3. Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax, WWE Raw 8/30/21 2
T3. Roman Reigns vs "The Demon" Finn Balor, WWE Extreme Rules 2
T3. Toru Yano vs. Chase Owens ("I Quit" Match), NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam in MetLife Dome 2

Receiving one vote: Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss, WWE Raw 1/25/21; Bad Luck Fale vs. BUSHI vs. Chase Owens vs. Toru Yano, NJPW Wrestle Kingdom; Big E vs. Apollo Crews (Nigerian Drum Fight), WWE WrestleMania Night 2; Jake Hager vs. Wardlow (MMA Rules), AEW Dynamite 6/18/21; Jordan Oliver vs Tony Deppen, GCW Fight Forever; Kota Ibushi vs. KENTA, NJPW G1 Climax Night 17; Lash Legend vs Sarray, WWE 205 Live 12/17/21; The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle (Blood and Guts), AEW Blood and Guts; The Miz vs. Damian Priest (Zombie Lumberjack Match), WWE Extreme Rules; The Rock 25 Year Battle Royale, WWE Survivor Series; Toru Yano vs. Chase Owens, NJPW Castle Attack Night 1

More of an angle than a match, the 26-second bout between Becky and Bianca took the cake as the worst match of the year. Fresh off a triumphant hero’s welcome after being away for nearly a year-and-a-half, beloved babyface Becky turned heel and won with one move to take out Bianca, who won the title in one of WWE’s rare booking bright spots at WrestleMania. Becky continually getting one over on Bianca afterwards didn’t help matters much at all either.

WORST FEUD OF THE YEAR
1. RANDY ORTON VS. "THE FIEND" BRAY WYATT & ALEXA BLISS 8
2. Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall & The Factory 3
3. Toru Yano vs. EVIL 2

Receiving one vote: Carmella vs. Liv Morgan; Charlotte Flair vs. Lacey Evans; Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax; Charlotte Flair vs. Nikki ASH vs. Rhea Ripley; Cody Rhodes vs. Anthony Ogogo; Edge vs. The Miz; Eva Marie vs. Doudrop; HFO vs. Best Friends; House of Torture vs. clean finishes; Inner Circle vs. American Top Team; Kazuchika Okada vs. EVIL; Kota Ibushi vs. Will Ospreay; MJF vs. Chris Jericho; Shane McMahon vs. Braun Strowman; SHO vs. YOH; Toru Yano vs. Chase Owens

despite one of the participants disappearing from television after WrestleMania and getting fired halfway through the year, the stench of The Fiend/Alexa Bliss vs. Randy Orton feud was so strong that it made it to the top of the ladder after coming in second last year. This multiple months long feud truly embodied all of WWE’s worst qualities, including hokey magic, nonsensical booking, and stagnant, boring character development. outside of this feud, however, most impressively three different Charlotte feuds show up with one vote each.

WORST GIMMICK
1. JOE GACY 12
2. Alexa Bliss 7
3. Nikki ASH 4
T4. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt 2
T4. Duke Hudson 2
T4. EVIL 2

Receiving one vote: Allie Katch; Danshoku Dino; Dick Togo; House of Torture; Madcap Moss; Pheromones; Will Ospreay

Joe Gacy packed a lot of bad gimmick since being introduced as part of the NXT 2.0 rebrand which made him an easy choice for voters to vote as Worst Gimmick. Even votes for the combined Fiend gimmicks (last year’s winner) couldn’t hope to match the likely Bruce Prichard-favorite parody of an online leftist.

WORST TELEVISION ANNOUNCER
1. COREY GRAVES 13
T2. Chris Jericho 4
T2. Pat McAfee 4
4. Michael Cole 3
T5. Jim Ross 2
T5. Kevin Gill 2
T5. Matt Striker 2

Receiving one vote: Chris Charlton; Don Callis; Taz; Willie Urbina

Corey Graves manages to repeat his 2019 and 2020 wins of Worst Television Announcer by a long way for a three-peat, clearing his competition by leaps and bounds. both Pat McAfee and Chris Jericho made strong pushes in their first years of regular television commentary, we’ll have to watch out for these bright young talents in future competitions.

WORST TELEVISION SHOW
1. WWE RAW 22
2. WWE NXT 2.0 7
3. WWE SmackDown 3
4. Being The Elite 1

RAW also manages to repeat as worst television show two years running, but the revamped NXT 2.0 will nip at its heels. Can NXT 2.0 continue to degrade and make a strong effort next year?

WORST PROMOTION
1. WWE 34
T2. NJPW 1
T2. ROH 1

it’s funny every year

WORST ON SOCIAL MEDIA
1. BRIAN CAGE 9
2. Tony Khan 8
T3. Corey Graves 2
T3. Seth Rollins 2
T3. Top Dolla 2
T3. Will Ospreay 2

Receiving one vote: Anthony Ogogo; Disco Inferno; Keith Lee; Ric Flair; Ricochet; Roman Reigns; Sammy Guevara; Val Venis

Brian Cage’s push whining and Benoit posting catapulted him to the top spot in Worst on Social Media. Tony Khan’s end-of-year Twitter screed about Big Swole made him a strong contender for the top spot, but who betta than Brian Cage to take the crown of Worst on Social Media? last year’s winner T-Bar didn’t receive a single vote.

WORST ON INTERVIEWS
1. ALEXA BLISS 5
2. Liv Morgan 4
T3. Brian Pillman Jr. 2
T3. Roman Reigns 2
T3. Seth Rollins 2

Receiving one vote: Charlotte Flair; Cody Rhodes; Dan Lambert; Eva Marie; Jade Cargill; John Silver; Lacey Evans; MJF; Sammy Guevara; Will Ospreay

The Fiend’s cult member/devotee/girlfriend??? Alexa Bliss made an incredibly strong case for Worst on Interviews of this year, consistently dragging down Raws with her stupid haunted doll and bullshit magic. Liv Morgan comes in second with four votes despite me personally not remembering literally anything she has done this year, good or bad.

tomorrow: some bests, to wash our mouth out from these bores and tragedies.

Congratulations to Corey Grave on his 3rd win. Surely two more wins to make it 5 & a row & Worst Commentator can just be the Corey Graves memorial award.

Another reason to hope he doesn't actually return to the ring.

And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth,
And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.
Evil, Dick Togo and House of Torture are one gimmick and should be voted as a unit. This is me upset they got such low votes for being a gimmick that is killing a conpany as opposed to just horrible.

Though reports are Vince wants to push Joe Gacy to the moon so give it a few months.

Think of a 76-year old man's idea of making fun of woke culture. Now imagine that's taken to the WWE levels of Vince-brain bad.

This is what NXT looks like now, eh? Remember when it was the hottest weekly wrestling show there was, and the Takeovers were guaranteed incredible shows? :sigh:

Evil, Dick Togo and House of Torture are one gimmick and should be voted as a unit. This is me upset they got such low votes for being a gimmick that is killing a conpany as opposed to just horrible.

Though reports are Vince wants to push Joe Gacy to the moon so give it a few months.

For me it was really close between the two. Joe Gacy is the poster child for everything NXT 2.0 ruined about itself - a Boomer-assed gimmick on a show ostensibly designed to be younger and more hip. He's almost certainly driven eyes away from the product singlehandedly. I've seen a lot more HoT since they're in a promotion that I actually watch sometimes, so this isn't a sentimental vote - emotionally speaking, I hate HoT more. But Gacy is such a spectacularly ill-judged failure - one that accomplishes the literal opposite of the thing it was designed to do - that I have to acknowledge it.

In the end I decided to split the "honors" by picking EVIL for Most Overrated and Gacy for Worst Gimmick.

I don't think NXT has ever averaged over a .2 demo for any appreciable length of time outside the first couple months and for the most part has been under that. The demo basically hovers around what it was doing pre NXT 2.0, just a tiny bit lower.

BEST GIMMICK
1. MIRO "THE REDEEMER" 12
2. "Hangman" Adam Page 4
3. Hyper Misao 3
T4. Bryan Danielson 2
T4. Kenoh 2
T4. Malakai Black 2
T4. Orange Cassidy 2

Receiving one vote: Abadon; American Top Team; Cody Rhodes; HOOK; Lulupencil; Matt Cardona; MJF; Sami Zayn; Shunma Katsumata; The Elite; The Young Bucks

Two-time winner Orange Cassidy was dethroned this year by Miro “The Redeemer”, who turned off his goofy, video game-loving self to become a sadistic killer who killed his best man Kip Sabian, and feuded with God after not allowing him to bang his hot wife. 2021 saw Miro win the TNT Championship after dethroning the champion with the most defenses, Darby Allin, and defended it eight times before ultimately succumbing to Sammy Guevara. ultimately this made him more deranged as he consistently ranted against his god and vowed to become even greater than he was during his TNT Championship reign. even beloved Anxious Millennial Cowboy couldn;t come close to the heights that Miro reached in 2021.

BEST FEUD OF THE YEAR
1. KENNY OMEGA (W/ THE ELITE) VS. "HANGMAN" ADAM PAGE (W/ DARK ORDER) 23
2. Lulu Pencil Vs. Chris Brookes 4
3. Miro vs. God 3

Receiving one vote: American Top Team vs. Inner Circle; BULK Orchestra vs STRONGHEARTS; CM Punk vs. Eddie Kingston; Edge vs. Seth Rollins; Hikaru Shida vs Serena Deeb; Katsuhiko Nakajima vs Masa Kitamiya; Sendai Girls vs Marvelous; Syuri vs. Utami Hayashishita

In the end there was only one clear choice for Feud of the Year: the two-year-long storyline seeing “Hangman” Adam Page ascend to the top of the AEW mountain. Page, who was in the first AEW Championship match in history, consistently doubted himself, even as he teamed with Kenny Omega as AEW Tag Team Champions, having what many consider as the best match in AEW history, and consistently being a top guy in the company. Meanwhile. Under the tutelage of Don Callis and the mind-warping aura of The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega turned heel, won the AEW Championship, and held onto it time after time in increasingly underhanded ways. Hangman found the camaraderie in the hands of the Dark Order after an initial failed recruitment drive, to find people who would consistently be there for him after the Elite failed. Ultimately, Hangman would take the title in a classic match at Full Gear, fulfilling his destiny and his called shot from the inaugural AEW press conference to be the AEW World Champion and putting an exclamation point on a feud that will undoubtedly define the first two years of All Elite Wrestling.

That was also around the time when he was posting videos of him doing mundane stuff while listening to his own theme music, like pulling up to drive-thrus. It was legitimately entertaining.
