Asleep Style posted:I still don't want to use plan9 but this website is interesting as hell and I can't sleep for thinking about their posts. for a while I've been trying to figure out how to walk into the woods and away from computers. they walked into the woods with their computer yeah 100r are pretty rad. there's something kind of magic about buying a loving boat, sailing from tiny pacific island to tiny pacific island, painfully re-inventing interesting stuff in utterly uncommercialisable ways while being fully vegan and solarpunk and anti-packaging open source weebs. it's just all so stupid, doing things the hardest possible way for the least possible gain and i couldn't be more jealous. i'm stuck here with all the wanderlust and my inner artist screaming at me, too 'smart' to do something as monumentally stupid as spend my life savings on a boat and try to cross the pacific with it, too 'efficient' to spend a bunch of time reinvent wheels in interesting but obscure ways, too 'tired' to make a cool little global cabal of friends i could couch surf on. i'm also too 'cool' to move to the US and make the big bux, way too 'independent' to join a massive team that i could just sleep the day away hidden inside, too much 'integrity' to run a crypto scam. exactly dumb enough to keep myself trapped in an unlocked cage of my own making. you know? anyway i've been doing my own uxn assembler / virtual machine in swift and it's been really enlightening and fun.
