~anderoid fragmentation~
Hey guys, hoping someone smarter and better at repairing TVs (shouldn't be hard to find) can help me out.

TV Model #: LC-70LE632U
Power board #: DPS-222BP
Problem: No picture, light on front of TV blinks 1 short 1 long

What I've done so far: Googling the code you find out quickly it's a problem with the backlight. What exactly is causing that problem (power board, inverter board, etc) is proving tricky. Not trying to throw parts at it, google and youtube help me find that there's a particular diode that's broken on the power board (board number is DPS-222BP) so I track one down and replace it. Reads right on the meter, but no change overall. So, I spend the $175 on a new power board because everything I was reading seemed to point to that.

I get the new board, install it, same problem. I do notice one change, is that the transformers on the board are making almost no sound, while the ones on the old board were very loud.

So back to google, I find out that there's a reset procedure you have to do. Some people have replaced this board and it didn't fix it, then they did this reset and it worked fine from then on. It is by holding the INPUT and VOL- buttons while plugging in the TV.

Problem is, the screen won't stay lit long enough for me to navigate the reset options menu, or the "k screen" as it's called in the Sharp world where you enter this mode and on the left side of the screen it shows "K - [model number]" and then from there you press another combination of buttons to get to a screen where you can reset the LAMP ERROR code.

I tried getting into this mode with the old board and it goes black almost immediately. It stays lit just a couple seconds longer with the new power board. When I hold INPUT and VOL- while plugging it in and keep holding it, the backlight turns on, I even see "HDMI 2" at the top right, and then it goes blank. Sometimes it will stay on long enough to reach that and the screen for resetting the lamp error code, which is switching to holding CH- and VOL- at the same time.

So the long and short of it is, replacing the power board seemed to have helped, but whatever error the TV gives itself with the backlight problem prevents me from getting to the screen to reset that. I found a video of a similar Sharp power board and the guy finds the tiny capacitor related to lamp error codes and shorts it out with solder and the TV works again. I'd like to try that, but a) I can't figure out what capacitor it is to do that to and b) not sure if that will even fix the problem.

Also, holding CH- and VOL+ at the same time while plugging it in keeps the TV on and it doesn't display the blink code. I can turn it on and off after doing that with the power button, but nothing displays. After unplugging again it's back to the same 1 long 1 short error.

So I'm stuck, and I'm not sure if it's worth trying replacing the main board now, or another board. Hopefully by what I've described it's clearer to someone else what I should try next. Thank you!
