Can someone explain why vine closed down but tiktok has now taken over the world?

I'm guessing the answer is porn

To answer the op question, probably Roblox, Minecraft and Fortnite, in that they use these massive platforms but then play with a known group and develop in jokes that way

The oldest zoomers are barely into adulthood and most of them are still literally children.

Kind of riding the generational line though, pretty much half & half at that age. You're right though zoomers aren't all teenagers, many are young adults now.

it’s kind of hard to fathom but all the statue protests like in Charlottesville, and those UC Berkeley street fight instigated by Milo were all involving zoomer kids in colleges. Zoomers aren’t literal children, they are a huge bloc that businesses now cater to because a lot of them have money now

It is pretty fascinating to see how SA influenced them indirectly because of dril and Weird Twitter - the non-sequitors and absurdity based humor of SA translated well, as did the helldumping (which just got called “cancelling”) of others, but Tumblr was always more progressive than SA so it influenced the lefty feel of everything, especially in treating everyone’s weirdness with kindness

in terms of political leanings Tumblr was just Live journal 2.0

It'll be interesting when most goons are old enough that their kids are into crap you can't wrap your head around.

Lots of them are teens, which have a huge online presence. Especially if you're into manchildren hobbies, like video games.

That's a pretty rosy view of tumblr, they've been responsible for more than their fair share of harassment campaigns and death threats, in addition to the omnipresent contingent of bigoted users

What made SA unique was being the first semi-publication and community to constantly surface and discover lunatics on the internet. At a time when the rest of the tech press was treating the world wide web like the discovery of fire, SA could highlight that it was still full of racists, conspiracy theorists, weird fetishists and narcissists. Today it's extremely trivial for anyone to take screenshots, and zoomers are nonplussed about fetishes because they've been able to stumble upon cartoon porn by the age of 8

True, but the age of the average internet and social media user has skyrocketed. At least compared to the late 90s and early 2000s when it was mostly teens, socially maladjusted adults, and greybeards that have been online since the 80s

Cancelling started on black twitter and was quickly appropriated by everyone else. The only thing Helldump could possibly be considered an influence for are cesspits like kiwi farms.
And the correct answer for the OP is LUElinks.

Also twitter alone was always unprofitable, vine was extra-unprofitable and they didn't have the investor dollars to keep it on life support. Tiktok is backed by a chinese conglomerate and subsidized by the government
