The first ChocoPro Peoples (ChocoPro but with an audience) was a lot of fun and revived ChocoPro from the doldrums, plus if you want to see Emi Sakura at her best these are her last two ChocoPro shows before she returns to America and AEW Dark.

DAY 1 MATCH GUIDE FROM DOGGLESNAKE ON REDDIT

quote:

RIVALS

Dragon Ninja (Choun Shiryu 🐉 & Sayuri 💠) VS Egg Tart (Chie Koishikawa 🏵️ & Hagane Shinno ⚔️)

What will happen when these two long time rivals collide once more? Dragon Ninja’s road has been rough, but they have the advantage of lots of recent matches together! The Crimson Kunoichi of the Fourth Generation Sayuri and the Dragon of Ichigaya, Choun Shiryu, make quite the intense duo. Sayuri, as our tech support & resident ninja, is able to perform tactical Jutsu's! (Believe it!) She can vanish and even runs across the wall (or her opponent’s chest)! Her determination is easy to get behind, struggle makes for the best wrestling stories...and they have had plenty of that! Between the Diamond Lily Shot and her wild crucifix bomb, you might just find a new favorite! The sky is the limit for this red clad ninja, we haven’t even seen close to her full potential yet. Choun's unique technical flair and overall way of moving is astounding. He finds creative ways to do the simplest things, even his dropkick is one of a kind. The stuff he pulls off without hesitation proves just how much of a disciplined daredevil he is! Dragon Ninja is one of the most fun premises in ChocoPro: A Ninja, trained by an Oni, is now under the guidance of a Kung Fu Master. Look out for their synchronized movements! Let's Bodyslam!

EGG TART (Chie Koishikawa & Hagane Shinno) is at it again! The fan favorite polar opposite duo has a bizarre but perfect chemistry that can't be put into words. Chie Koishikawa has “Too Much Energy”! She brings a cheerful flair and an unpredictable amount of fury (That sometimes brings with it a haunting aura we don't yet understand...). Chie is instantly popular with new fans for a reason. Her backhand fencing chops have brought low monsters and demons alike! Chie is the “Ace of the Fourth Generation”...and she is still rising. This Aerial Striker is one to keep an eye on...if you can keep up! Her partner, Hagane Shinno, is a Cold Killer. He brings an emotionless, calculated destruction that will remind you of the ravages of winter. Silent, beautiful, uncaring (except for how much he cares for Chie!). Simply a force of nature! (He's canonically beautiful by the way, Emi introduced him once as such) His relentless ferocity has yet to find an equal in Ichigaya. Egg Tart is a Team of Hot & Cold energies, and the opposing energies balance one another out to a degree that has shown a bit of each's personality changing the other! They were named after an incident where a drunken Chie stole a certain pastry from Hagane, by the way.

Bad Communication

Best Bros (Mei Suruga 🍎 & Baliyan Akki ♠️) VS Ken Ohka 🤠 & Masa Takanashi 🍶

Right There! Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki, the Best Bros, are the cream of the crop. “Apple Genius Girl” Mei is currently preparing to be part of the Apple Bee’s team at TJPW’s SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ‘22 with Suzume! (They’ll be taking on Gatoh Move & ChocoPro Alumni Riho and Suzume’s usual partner Arisu Endo!) Mei’s in ring IQ is off the charts and she somehow keeps improving her technique despite already being far too good for someone with such a short career (four years in the business!). She’s a threat in basically every category. Her partner is the proud Ace of the promotion! Akki managed to defeat their loud & legendary guest opponent a while back, successfully defending his Super Asia Championship. (That win will someday draw more of GanPro’s excellent roster to the Square!) Unlike his brash goblin of a partner, Baliyan Akki keeps a cool head and a measured response...while dealing out some of the most devastating strike combo’s you’ll ever witness. While I tend to refer to him as the “Zephyr of Ichigaya”, Akki has begun to really excel in submission and groundwork. Akki can fly, but he will bring you down to earth! The Bros are taking on a pair of old enemies (though I believe this is the first time Mei will get a chance to face Ohka!), stirring up some memories!

GanPro returns to Ichigaya! Ken Ohka is the figurehead and hero of Ganbare Pro-wrestling! He is a decorated champ from DDT, but chose to pave his own way with a sub promotion (that is now a full fledged one) called GanPro (a promotion with the blood of the Japanese Independent Scene running through it)...that even has its own spinoff now, Ganbare Joshi (GanJo)! GanPro & GanJo often feature ChocoPro related talent! Ohka's dream is wild, free, and very loud. Be careful not to be overwhelmed by his charisma! Ohka was introduced to me as the “ideal babyface”, someone you can't help but cheer for...and it holds very true. He’s an every-man wrestler that was trained by Ultimo Dragon and has an awesome move set. He'll be working with the counter specialist of DDT & ChocoPro, Masa! Not a lot of wrestlers utilize this style effectively, so it is a pleasure to see one so good at it. He's got great gear, a clever fighting style, a unique voice, a charming personality, and can out drink most of the roster! (We miss you, Mitsuru!) His matches are all unique and memorable, seeing Masa in a match is an assurance that it will definitely be must watch. Expect him to damage a lot of noses, pull a lot of technical pranks, and kick a lot of rear end! Will he finally get to hit the Taka-Tonic in the Chocolate Square once more?

Smiling Violence

Emi Sakura 🌸 VS Sayaka 👗

Emi Sakura, the Oni, the Queen, whatever you want to call her…she’s too good for this world. A force of positive change in the wrestling landscape in more ways than one, the world will never be able to adequately reward her for all she has done. While Emi is one of the very best trainers that has ever lived, the shadow cast by this accolade has hidden her immense in ring abilities in its sheer magnitude. Yes, she has produced talents in possibly the hundreds. Yes, many of her students have gone on to achieve great things (as I love to reference in each of these posts). But that isn’t all there is to Emi. She is endlessly innovative, stringing moves together that you wouldn’t even think possible. She is much, much stronger and faster than anyone gives her credit for. Her ideas might sometimes be ahead of their time, but there is no denying the level of love and creativity she puts into every venture. She has brought about multiple promotions. She has endured injury, crisis, and even traveling across the world to further her dreams. I could go into detail about her countless moves (the Queen’s Gambit, La Magistral (and variants), some of the best goddamn chops in wrestling, more styles of backbreakers and setups and transitions and even more that she selectively pulls out for special occasions), but I’d be here all day. Emi Sakura is one of the best this profession has ever seen, or will ever see. The Queen reigns supreme, whether or not the world is good enough to see that. Can you tell she is my favorite wrestler?

She’ll be taking on one of the best and brightest in the Fourth Generation. (It is strange to think we might be seeing a Fifth Generation soon!) “Smiling Violence” Sayaka brings an unsettling cheerful warmth to the promotion. Why unsettling? As she explained last episode, she is happy because she gets to “beat someone”! That sadistic glee and her rapid growth have made her a rising threat in the Chocolate Square. It even got her a spot on one of STARDOM’s New Blood shows! While she might look innocent enough, her catchphrase is “I’m gonna kill you! Yayyyy”. When you see her deliver some of those ungodly elbows, you’ll understand! She has even been introducing arm capture striking...If she is not hanging out with Minoru Suzuki at her other job, she's training her mind & body for battle (on any plain of existence, she’s even an avid gamer)! How will Sayaka’s crisp dropkick and overwhelming striking style stack up to that of her teacher? While her pin and submission game has been increasing, it is that incredible stopping power in her strikes that most resembles that of her diabolical mentor. The Oni’s legacy echoes out with each and every blow...ringing out like a gunshot! Can Smiling Violence bring down Her Highness? This is Emi’s only Singles match for this visit...expect it to be a crazy fight!

Day 2 Match Card Guide By Dogglesnake from Reddit

quote:

Chilled Pineapple

”Tropical Fairy Monster” Yuna Mizumori 🍍 VS ”Cold Killer” Hagane Shinno ⚔️

Papaya, Mango, Coconuts! Sing-song Lariat Machine and “Tropical Fairy Monster” Yuna Mizumori has grown a lot since these two last fought all the way back on Episode 98. Long time fans will remember the “Yunamon learning to Drive” saga! (That happened in DBZ too, unrelated) So much has transpired, with Yunamon growing in strength, technique, and Tropical Passion. So many lariats! So many shoulder tackles! The Pineapple Girl will take the Joshi world by (Tropical) storm someday, but for now it starts with taking down this monumental task. In their last encounter, Yuna’s insane level of endurance almost bought her a Draw (with Hagane winning one minute before!) Perhaps this time, the cruel and unstoppable force that is her opponent might just prove to be...stoppable?

Having been busy with his duties at the theatrical wrestling show MAKAI, Hagane Shinno has started to feel like a rare guest instead of a common appearance! The time away from the Chcoolate Square hasn’t dulled the “blade” of this assassin, however. The Cold Killer has had quite the journey since their last encounter, so despite Yuna’s growth in power and skill...he might still be beyond reach. Hagane is a frighteningly skilled wrestler, with a killer set of abs. His icy demeanor and monstrously heavy attacks will have you and his foes wincing in pain. There is something unearthly about this hauntingly calm and cruel character. Without Chie to balance out his frosty presence, expect this one to be an example of how cold he can be. Can Yunamon bring about the end of his endless winter? Or will she find herself shattered like ice once again...

Chie Drunken Kings?

Best Bros (Mei Suruga 🍎 & Baliyan Akki ♠️) VS ChieDK (Chie Koishikawa 🏵️ & Masa Takanashi 🍶)

The Best Bros look to continue their rise to the top! Baliyan Akki is the Ace of the promotion. His destiny is high above the heights he’s at (a world even above the Super Asia belt!), but it is not a question of if, but when. When you see him fly through the air, transition into a complex submission, or even do a clean striking combo (somewhat of a lost art), you'll begin to understand why exactly he is the Ace. The Zephyr of Ichigaya is only one half of the team, though. His partner is Mei Suruga: the Big Apple, the Red Devil, the Apple Genius Girl, the Goblin...countless epithets, with more being added to the lexicon each day. This rising prodigy is just that, a talent far, FAR beyond her years! How can she be so good with so little experience!? How can she be so animated, commanding your attention even when she isn't meant to? She just passed her fourth year in wrestling! Mei is one of the many star potential level students of Emi Sakura, and she has her sights aimed high (even appearing at TJPW’s upcoming Summer Sun Princess show!). Can anyone stop the former champs? I don’t think they’ll be “former” for long...

ChieDK returns (yet again)! The combination of “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa & “Drunken Monkey” Masa Takanashi is about as chaotic as they get. It is for the safety of Ichigaya that this is a slightly rare combination! These two orange gear loving fighters have a load of charisma and spicy attitudes between them. Two loud, entertaining performers together is always a recipe for greatness. Chie is a super agile alternative striker, utilizing backhand chops and is known to bring a sword with her to matches. Her tight locked Stretch Muffler is becoming very cool, not to mention that flying cross chop she calls “Ackerman”! It is exciting to see the Ace of the Fourth Generation develop. Masa is a liquid quick counter fighter with a crisp technical ability. His matches are always special, with Masa finding ways to make everything memorable...for the viewer, and his enemies. Watching him is like watching a renowned artist at work! Don’t let his mischievous attitude fool you...he’s always aimed at victory. It is weird to have CDK in two different matches!

Emi & Chrissy

Emi Sakura 🌸 & Chris Brookes 🐙 VS Shin Black Comaneci (Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara 💃 & Antonio Honda 🍯)

Despite the combination of Emi Sakura & Chris Brookes feeling very odd (given their history), they have actually teamed in Ichigaya before...All the way back in Episode 4! While plenty has happened since then (title changes, hat prizes, faction betrayals, pencil wars...ChocoPro is complicated), these two equally strong willed villains will have to put their differences aside to take on...another pair of villains! Who are the good guys here!? This will be Her Highness’s last episode before heading back to All Elite Wrestling! Did you know she is appearing on NJPW World to talk about Forbidden Door? While her interview skills are top notch, it is her expertise at professional wrestling that will be on display tonight. Expect a lot of heavy chops (especially after that match with Sayaka!), a glimpse of her immense arsenal of abilities, and probably a lot of fun trickery. Chrissy B on the other hand will be doing his usual Tsundere Submission Specialist act, pretending like he doesn’t love being in the Chocolate Square (and he is definitely excited to be on her team, whether or not he’ll admit it!). His incredible reach and explosive style is a big crowd pleaser (just like his DBRU merch), even if he is a bit rotten. Anticipate a lot of surprising synergy and wild team attacks in this one. Prove yourself worthy of the Emi Support Group, you leather jacket loving bastard!

We’re never entirely certain how they will manifest, but Shin Black / White Comaneci (Antonio Honda & Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara) is a sinister (and formidable) team! While they dubiously claim to have the blessing of Frank Gotch, they are simply baddies (regardless of their angelic or demonic attire). Antonio Honda is the Master of (Shin) Black & White: A cunning prankster & Storyteller that bends the rules of reality (and the match) with ease (Anton's jokes tend to take on a more violent nature when he pairs with Otoki!). While he might be dismissed for his comedic antics...Anton is a phenomenal wrestler with a brilliant mind for improv, is in great shape, and is able to go at a pace that few can match when he needs to. Don't be fooled by his tantalizing songs! Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara is the Master of Comaneci. (At least that part never changes!) The Golden Six-Pack bearing “Iron Body of the Fourth Generation” is known for her heavy striking...but adding in a delight for cheating and assisting in Anton's devilish ways makes her even more dangerous! Otoki's arsenal of Comaneci style submissions keeps getting deeper (including several cobra twists), and her throws and kicks are as deadly as ever. Lately she has even been trying to hit a buzzsaw kick! Emi will have to keep an eye out, her students have been extra ruthless as of late!

The Oni’s presence will still be felt while she is away!
