I like music for bouncing around the room after that first cup of coffee, which I don't do because my joints are aching and I'm still waiting for the meds to kick it but if I could, then I'd be bouncing to:

Today's choice was The Hu. I am a huge huge fan of fusion and sincerely love the traditional + metal that's out there. At the moment, The Hu are the only Mongolian folk metal band I've heard but there are others (https://www.loudersound.com/features/best-mongolian-metal-bands-the-hu) and I plan to listen to some of them throughout the weekend. Next exploration will be African metal bands (https://www.okayafrica.com/african-metal-bands-you-need-to-check-out/), probably over the holiday weekend.

What music do you like that gets you up and moving around in the morning?

Everywhere, everyone is red and green
I gotta lust for glory and a tape machine
I'm living out Frank Coppola's dreams
Outta my mind, I'm feelin' mean

the hu is indeed dope

this spock's beard song called "at the end of the day" works for me as a morning song for some reason

e: maybe because it's got the quiet morning feel at the start (which is probably supposed to be the clocking out and finally getting to head home feeling) and then it ramps up into bouncy prog

thank you saoshyant for this sig!!!

That's a good ramp, too!
This line from Wikipedia This article is about a rock band. For the Star Trek episode where Spock has a beard, see Mirror, Mirror (Star Trek: The Original Series) delights me.

This morning I'm going with a classic

I don't need full mobility to practice certain movements in belly dance and yoga. :yayclod:

I guess I don't really consider any particular genres to be "morning music." I know personally, I will never feel awake and refreshed ever, no matter what I listen to, so I just try to find what I would be feeling that particular day. lately I've been trying to listen to musicians with whom I'm not super familiar to further broaden my horizons. I've been a big fan of folk metal since my mate turned me onto Vintersorg and Thyrfing in highschool. The Hu are fun, I'm going to have to check out those links in the op when I get a chance. I feel like there's a folk metal band leaning way more on the folk side that I want to talk about but I've been wracking my brain for like 20 minutes and nothing.

anyway, Hava Nagila by the Makkabees

Oh, these are songs I listen to at any time. I just like listening to something energetic to help get me up and moving when I really don't want to.

Nice! Another version to add to my collection!
Vintersong is cool and good.
