Even stuff I love will feel worn out if I burn it too long. That doesn't mean its not still in my top 5 albums ever. And I will listen to it again some time. To not get tired of, like if I had to listen to one song forever, it would have to be some extremely quiet extremely sparse ambient stuff, like that piano that plays one note every six hundred years or whatever. Rubber Soul is probably the one. Owned it on cassette, own an 8-track of it even though I don’t and have never owned an 8-track player, and have two copies of it on record (both mono American versions). I also own four versions of it on CD: 2009 mono from the mono box set (which also includes the OG 1965 stereo mixes), 2009 stereo, 2004 Capitol records box set mono/stereo, and a 1987 Disque Americ Canadian pressing that erroneously has the 1965 stereo mixes on it instead of the (then) newly remixed 1987 mixes. Every one of those CD versions are ripped to my computer as lossless, too. Don’t get me wrong, I get burned out on listening to it and give it a rest for a good while, but it’s the one Beatles album I always gravitate back toward on repeat listening.

Seconding Madvillainy and fourthing or fifthing Floodland.JnnyThndrs posted:Disintegration by The Cure. 30-something years and I’m still not tired of it. For me it's Head On the Door. It was my first Cure album, and still kills track after track. In addition, a few more whole albums I can toss on without skips and that will never get old: Tom Waits - Rain Dogs The Modern Lovers - The Modern Lovers DEVO - New Traditionalists Mac Demarco - Salad Days (I don't care, shut it) Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump Belle and Sebastian - Tigermilk (But Sinister has their best song on it) The Damned - Damned Damned Damned David Bowie - Hunky Dory (Well, okay I do usually skip Kooks) Gang of Four - Entertainment The number one song I will never get tired of is Bird Dream of the Olympus Mons by Pixies. dot communist fucked around with this message at 22:25 on Aug 26, 2022 |

Head On The Door is really underrated, I don’t think there’s a bad track on that album. And I forgot Rain Dogs, that’s another eternal album.
