I went through a phase of being really obsessed with the Basement Tapes in my mid-20s but the Band never really grew on me. I mostly just like his first solo album because everything by Daniel Lanois sounds great. He's still OK for a Canadian, though, though not as good as Len.

"Music for The Native Americans" was one of the albums my dad would listen to in its entirety while doing dishes and getting dressed for work at like 6 in the morning. More often than not, that poo poo would wake me up and I promised never to be as inconsiderate and as much of a morning person as him. But now I always do household chores before work because I'm too goddamn tired in the evenings to do any of that and like returning home to a clean kitchen. I'm still at least 2 divorces away from blasting Robbie Robertson like he did, though.
