those clippers aren't a razor that digs into whatever is there. i don't know how it works exactly because i've never really cared enough but the guards you put on those are to avoid cutting too much hair, not cutting the person's skin off. you can press the pointed part directly onto your skin without issue as long as you don't push it hard attempting to do damage
