funeral home DJ posted:Every TikTok video I’ve ever seen is pushing some useless garbage product so I’m not seeing where these cute animals are. the tiktok algorithm is really aggressive but you can game that to your advantage if you get a feel for how it works. i just swipe to the next video asap if it isn't cute animals or guitar videos. the thing about tiktok is it takes even things like looking at the comments into account when deciding what to feed you next. so people get angry at a video or something, open the comments to read a few (while the video continues to play or replay in the background) and then it starts pushing more of that poo poo.

Once they realized that angry engagement is just as good for selling ads, poo poo seemed to get so much worse on algorithmically driven social media

I downloaded tiktok so I could make dumb filters. I don't use the app but whenever I open it I make sure I'm with understanding company because the first post that shows is always a giant butt or someone doing yoga where their taint launches towards the screen like the 3D Jaws in back to the future 2. Lowest common denominator poo poo.
