repiv posted:banning unsupervised AI streams in general would probably be prudent, even before the boob incident it's already caused trouble when people were running LLM-driven seinfeld or family guy bots and getting banned when the computer made a transphobic joke or bomb threat or whatever the latest issue isn't with unsupervised ai it was people using the new "artistic nudity" rules to stream themselves generating photorealistic(ish) ai generated softcore porno it was very supervised. and the supervisor was saying "naked lady with huge tits please" supposedly that specific issue was what caused twitch to walk back the new rule.

Hello thread. There are a lot of reports coming out and I'd like to ask people to chill out a bit please. No need to get so aggro with each other. Cheers.

Would it have been better if it were just a talented artist making photo-realistic images of nudity by hand? It seems like whether it’s AI or not isn’t really the important issue.

https://twitter.com/jakesucky/status/1735740758018457959 Extremely toxic player Mason just got banned in DotA 2 by opening a seasonal gift box containing a lump of coal. As the tweet says, I've never seen or heard of a ban handled like this.

he also made a giant weepy thread on reddit about how he has No Idea Why His Behavior Score was so low and then people instantly posted twitch clips of him screaming at the top of his lungs over mic at his teammates

funny as the mason ban is, apparently he posted an email from steam support in discord saying that he's allowed to make a new account so the "permaban" is more of a slap on the wrist

Given who he is as a person his new account is unlikely to have a good behavior score either.

You have been banned for being toxic, including possibly smurfing. Now we are going to fully sanction you smurfing by allowing you to make a new account, which also makes the ban pointless

Sorta like the "Cheater's Lament" thing item in the Team Fortress 2 days where everyone who didn't use an Achievement Unlocker tool to get the new weapons immediately got a cosmetic. that was actually related to using a 3rd-party idling tool instead of idling in the actual game, which i continue to maintain does not count as cheating also they later gave it to everyone anyway so who even knows what the intent was

The "behavior score booster" services actually do a little more than that. They abuse the matchmaking algorithm to queue for ranked in a way that guarantees they get in a 10 stack with co-conspirators (e.g. by setting their language to Chinese and being the only 10 people playing in Chinese on the Dubai server at 5am Dubai time) Then one team feeds wins to the other to get the matches over as fast as possible (like 7 minutes instead of 30-40 per game) and on the post-match screen all players on both teams hit the button to "commend" the boosted account.

I didn't get it and I hadn't even heard of SAM before few years later. Maybe it was because I followed a friend to achievement idle server to mess around a few times? The idea that Twitch was anything remotely approaching a child-safe "neutral space" before the rules changes and that the rules changes made things less safe is hopelessly naive. It was already unsafe. Even if you take rear end and titties out of the equation completely, the platform was already infested with literal gambling streams and popular streamers with poorly moderated chats filled with racism and other garbage. The only way I'd let a young kid on Twitch is if I was specifically curating what channels they were watching to begin with, because otherwise they're going to end up in Forsen's chat or something spamming "funny" racist slurs within a couple days. There are good channels on Twitch with good content but there's an absolute sea of toxic garbage and no young children should be on the site with zero supervision, tits or no tits.
