I drove to grab food right after the card and on my way back I found myself behind a black lexus SUV with a Georgian flag dangling from the window, and while traffic didn't line up in a way that allowed me to roll down the window and yell "Yeah Merab!" at them (also it's freezing out), I'm just gonna imagine that they were coming back from watching the fight.

that was pretty insane. yan's got a style that's perfect for dunking on people he's way better than, but as soon as he starts giving up advantages in different areas, the fight turns into a slog for him, he seems to be really bad (for such a good fighter) at imposing his gameplan and making the fight happen on his own terms. he's always accepting the opponent's terms and if he can't beat them there he can't win the fight cleanly. but i guess he was also fighting what appears to be a small diego sanchez with a gameplan and a functional systemic approach to breaking his opponent which sounds like the most overpowered fighter of all time
