in French “book” is “livre”, which somehow is also the word for “pound” (both the UK currency and also the weight unit).

so if you eat a quarter pounder from McDonald’s and you just call it “un quart de livre”, it’s like eating 1/4 of a book.

but since it requires eating McDonald’s burgers, no I haven’t eaten any good book lately, despite the French language loophole

they do in France but not in Quebec, because the quarter pounder was created in the 70s when Canada was still undergoing (a never fully finished) switch to the metric system and the “Royal cheese” name is only used in countries that do not really have familiarity with the imperial system.

and in latin book is liber, which can also mean child, so using the latin loophole,
