My grandma, on her deathbed, causally dropped a detailed and plausible story about her and her sisters about blundering into a German spy ring in the Montana wilderness during WW2. I wish I knew how to even begin researching it.

Find out which guards he was describing and track down their grandchildren. Make them listen to the tape with you. Release the rails results as a mid-tier podcast. Do it, OP

UPDATE: I'm spending time with my parents for Thanksgiving, so I may be able to get the audio digitally processed. I also have a cousin who teaches law at Baylor University, so I'm asking him for legal advice.
