AJPW Champion Carnival Night 4 April 24th MOTYC Yuma Aoyagi vs Shotaro Ashino - Crowd weren't amazing the whole night until these two woke them up, some fantastic nearfalls and Yuma taking Ashino's german suplexes like a crazy person Yuma Anzai vs SUWAMA - Yuma Anzai is a loving phenom, I absolutely believe if he were working in a bigger company he'd be spoken about the same way as guys like Okada and Takeshita were at 24 because he's goddamn fantastic and only debuted 18 months ago. Suwama kept up admirably, even though he's a fair few steps slower than his prime he's still an absolute force, I was wincing from the thud of his meaty lariats to Anzai's chest during his comeback HM Ren Ayabe vs Cyrus I was thinking this would be a pretty nothing show until the last two matches, those were fantastic. Love me some All Japan

NOAH Monday Magic Season 2 Final Episode - 4/22 HM Starboy Charlie & Titus Alexander v. Naomichi Marufuji & Hajime Ohara An all-out action tag match that was just so much fun start to finish. Watched this on a whim and was very pleased AJPW Champion Carnival Night 4 - 4/24 MOTYC Shotaro Ashino v. Yuma Aoyagi, Block A Tournament Match Shotaro proving to all why he is Master of Suplex. There's a kind of visceral response to seeing dudes suplexing each other on that blue All Japan canvas. Nothing like it. MOTYC Yuma Anzai v. Suwama, Block B Tournament Match Throughout this tournament, Yuma Anzai has debuted new gear, a new powermove finisher, and with this match, a new submission finisher. He was already the complete package, but now he's an even completer package. Great things in store for All Japan viewers this year.

DDT x ZEEKSTAR Tokyo Special Event ~ DDZT ~ April 26th MOTYC Yuki Ueno (c) vs Akito - KO-D Openweight Title - Man I wish Akito got more big matches like this, man is smooth as silk and attacked Ueno's legs with a viciousness he hadn't faced yet this reign. HM MAO (c) vs Keigo Nakamura - DDT Universal Championship 37KAMIINA (Shunma Katsumata and To-y) vs BURNING (Tetsuya Endo and Yuki Iino) Neat show, cool mix of great wrestling and great comedy with the Unagi and Hirata matches. It was great to see Nakamura come back from his year long injury with new gear and a new style but the same shiny bald head

Stardom ASGQ 27/4/24 MOTYC: Mayu Iwatani v Sareee. This one is an easy nomination. They literally beat the poo poo out of each other. Pretty much the perfect way of doing a "dream match" where it did suffer from a lack of build but the wrestlers are just so insanely awesome that they could drag all the heat into the match. MOTYC: Saori Anou v Hanan. This had every right to struggle. Saori at times leaves me very cold when she is on top and she can pace matches in a way that drags. Hanan is a 19 year old in her biggest ever match. They had to follow Iwatani v Sareee but they smashed it out the park. It was actually my motn. I think my investment in Hanan through the Cinderella and up to this match probably plays a role in my fondness for this match but they delivered big time. HM: Maika v Momo Watanabe: This was a really good match but it was let down by the second fall I thought making it fall just a bit short of the other big title matches. I was also really invested in Momo through the first half of the year. Maika continues being a strong champion. HM: Crazy Star v FWC v 02 line v SLK/Ruaka : A crazy high speed tag team match. Its probably the easiest recommendation because its just bonkers. HM: Meltear v Aja Kong/Kaoru Ito: I am probably judging this match on some sort of crazy sliding scale in my mind but this was an otherworldly good performance by meltear. Tam Nakano has returned in good form
