Weird, certainly not the way it works as standard in Windows (which is to copy a screen capture pic to Windows Clipboard).

Oh wait, you could mean either the standard keyboard PrtSc key or a special "extra" key like the Calculator key someone else mentioned above.

I think you mean a 'Print Screen' "extra" key, in which case there will probably be a program the keyboard manufacturer wrote installed on your work computer, where you can customize the actions the different 'extra' keys do.

Seriously, I'd find that program pronto and customize it to not upload when you press the key, because what happens if you or someone else accidentally presses that key when there's something on the screen you don't want uploaded (e.g. business secrets, Forums thread page about Goatse, porn)?

I'd also suggest you report the issue to your work's computer support department in case they've been silly enough to configure this "feature" the same way on multiple work computers.
Yeah I thought it wasn't the smartest thing for it to do. I didn't check if it put it as a hidden post or public either, that would be pretty bad if it was automatically a public post. I'll let the manager know I guess it's a small business so we don't really have computer support. I don't know if it's just my computer either.

Wow, :c00l:. I'd never heard of this before. Thanks for sharing it! I see now from googled sources that this actually resets the graphic card, or cards, I'm not sure which (I have 4-5 personal machines, most of which have two graphics chips/cards, so I will need to know.)

I'll certainly experiment, when I don't have hundreds of browser tabs open.

let us know how it goes, i'd assume it does all the cards but

e: lol if you ever return
what is it with neet posters dang

Commodore keyboards had a bunch of poo poo printed on their fronts, but I guess it wasn't really math. A bunch of old computer's keyboard's did the alternate front symbol thing

also, this, no way. Well, maybe no way. I'm thinking of something that i'm very almost certain was some university tier math thing. Specifically the monitor was monochrome green, had a gorilla on the back, the jack i think was the kind that was a sort of screw insert? It might have been some commadore idk.

I'd have to actually spend a while trying to research it, but i think that might be enough to go on and there's prob sites that have all this kinda stuff documented. I wanna say the weird symbols were for like... set theory? Honestly i have no idea whatsoever.

Really wish i could track this thing down now, even though i don't have it and know it was thrown in the trash

poo poo that might really have been it idk
I remember it having said "alt graph" specifically and not just alt

E: Yeah after scrolling thru image search I'm not seeing the exact one but I'm basically convinced at one time as a kid I had a computer that was supposed to be some implementation of APL in some kind of way. It was completely bonkers and incomprehensible to me.

My parents threw it out before I could figure how to make it do anything.

yeah, rip.
i have caps lock rebound to escape, which is a much more convenient place for it than off in its own little island especially when you use vim and need to hit it constantly. moved caps lock onto scroll lock but thats less about still needing caps lock and more about showing that worthless scroll lock key whos boss

Now with less breakage.

Of course I use AltGr, how else would I type square brackets?

I also use ScrollLock now and then, on FreeBSD it freezes the console and lets you scroll up and down with the arrow and pageup/down keys. Useful when I'm fixing things on the servers.

Pause, though? The last time was probably in a game that used it to, uh, pause. Which I think they stopped doing 20+ years ago.
