I looked around the Ducati site after Iroc's post to see the difference between the R and S, and I noticed that. Like I said, I know next to nothing about bikes. Actually, it was only because of the thread you posted a while ago when you were looking for/bought one that I knew the 999 was something special.

I had a Veteran's charity ride earlier today. Obviously geared a bit more towards cruisers but it was for a good cause (donating stuff for veterans) so I came out. Some group shots:

The Ducati/NCR "New Blue" track bike. It's a Sportclassic Sport 1000S that's down to 330lbs. and up to 122hp, with every trick part out there and a snazzy leather seat. They're supposed to be making a limited run for the U.S market. http://www.moto-newsblog.com/news/ducati-and-ncr-build-new-blue/1316/ http://ncrfactory.com/splash/images/photo/index.html I've got a giant boner for just about everything NCR puts out. This, the Millona, that new 185hp naked bike, I'd be all over 'em if I ever won the lotto.

I was under the impression that regular, stock street bikes could get 185. I would have guessed that these bikes were modified and could hit speeds closer to MotoGP bikes.

A 600 won't be getting anywhere near that. Certainly not any 750s. Maybe some of the newer 1000s derestricted and modded but it looks like the only stock bikes are Hayabusa and the ZX14

My internet is screwy and I can't see the video, so I can't check for myself. I know 600s top out closer to around 150-160.

Sound Mr. Brown posted:Someone skipped the MSF course... lolling. sv650 has a pretty cool sound, though. that's one thing i don't like about my old boxer, it has a very un-motorbike-like sound, just a mild rrrrr thing. it actually sounds far cooler if one cylinder stops firing so you get a more punchy ptptptptptpt tune. except then it can't really go uphill.

I saw this steam powered bicycle posted on a steampunk blog. There are some more pics at the site. The inventor died of a heart attack after crashing this one at 73 years of age in 1896. I like that pressure guage. I think I will trick out my '82 Honda to have a wooden choke and a brass speedometer.
