My parents never tried to get me to play any instruments when I was younger, so I finally decided to do something about it. My dad is splitting the cost of this Fender Squier with me. Got it for Christmas today. Unfortunately my dad didn't check to see if they put the cable in the bag, and they forgot it. So I can't start learning to play it until the shop opens back up.

A week ago I took the first step towards getting a modular analog synthesizer. I was planning on buying the parts for some VCOs first, but decided to get the chips and boards for a TLN-156 Neural Agonizer spring reverb first, since the unit is no longer in production and I wanted to make sure I could get the parts before the stock runs out. Example of the front panel: This monster is a two-spring tank reverb that is capable of warping the input in some very beautiful and bizarre ways. The moment I heard the bass pulse sample clip that can be found on the page linked above, I was sold. "The TLN-156 features: an amplifier for controlling the input signal level, two reverb tanks that can be driven in series or parallel, separate recovery amplifiers and resonators for each reverb tank, a feedback amplifier with lowpass filter, and a deformation processor for combining the reverb tank outputs. Most parameters are voltage controllable and several patch points are available for adding additional signal processing. All inputs and outputs handle 10 Vpp audio signals and 5 volt control voltage signals (modular standard)."

Duke Chin posted:Did you get the loving thing yet???? FedEx blows. And FedEx... don't get me started. First, it was supposed to be here the 22nd. That came and went. Then it was supposed to arrive yesterday... no dice. Then it showed it was on truck fro delivery TODAY. I sat at work until 5:30, and still no truck. So I drove down to the depot, and they were saying "yeah, sometimes, they don't put everything on the trucks." I'm just happy it showed up not broken or smashed. The gentleman that sold it to me clearly knows how to pack guitars.

posted already in the phat lute thread but ok im still all hard over it; With a combination of a christmas gift and my own money I walked in to get a Stingray- since I loved them every time I played them and I knew it's what I really wanted. And I left with a Stingray, but with more of a Stingray than I had intended- but the moment I begun playing it I knew I wasn't gonna let go of it anytime within the decade. should have cost me about 2800 euros, but i got it for 2100 and the case was free :fappery:

Crok: NICE. I had a really similar Sterling back in the day, great bass. I got the SX 5-string jazz last week, and I think that's going to be my main axe until I get my stambaugh. I'm feeling a little...fretless at the moment though, so I think these guys are the next two basses on the plate. Ibanez GWB35 NS Design WAV4

I got this a couple of months ago, and I still love to just look at the shape and colour of it. I'll hopefully be fitting some EMGs in it next year. The only problem is that i've already got my eyes on another guitar

touqueguy posted:How is your AT2020? What are you using it for? I just got one for Christmas as well. It's worked out quite well so far. I use it for just about everything, piano, organ, acoustic guitars, drums, vocals. Then again, I was using pretty lovely mics before, so this seems like a huge improvement. However I'm pretty sure it's a relatively decent piece of equipment.

Found this at a thrift store for $25 so I'm going to try to teach myself to play it. I used to know how to read sheet music really well, but I completely forgot everything. The first song I want to learn is Good Day Sunshine, which I have sheet music for already. Does anyone know much about Thomas organs like this one? I couldn't find anything online after searching for hours.

Not necessarily a new purchase, but it will be like new once I'm done with it. I'm taking my old Ibanez RG that I don't play anymore, refinishing it in flat black and putting EMGs in it. I spent all weekend sanding, priming and painting. Here's my progress so far: I'm hoping to have it done before our cd release in February. Right now I'm thinking about sanding and painting all the hardware flat black too, but I don't know if I'm too comfortable with that. With all the wear and tear it is going to get, I'm afraid the paint will start to chip off of the metal.

Well, I do plan on using the MPD for rhythm stuff. But I wanted the PCR for other things. Even though I am currently running into an issue with the driver install under OSX (for some reason it tells me it's installing correctly, when it really isn't), I'm glad I purchased it.
