Eh? Is this with the ungodly amount of dvd's that are the same price as a car? Or fansubs? Cause I can't find any fansubs besides CA and one from Lunar.

There are fansubs of all of LoGH on tape (some of which have been digitized) as well as Hong Kong bootlegs of the entire series.

I hate to ask this, as it's probably been answered, but do you have a link to where I can buy the VHS? I have no problem buying this on VHS, as it's awesome, and if it's released on DVD, I'll probably buy it then too.

And, are the HK bootlegs terrible, or ok or what? I mean, I'm assuming they are terrible, and that's why we're all going with Central Animes.

that was a fantastic episode. the heavy foreshadowing at the end of the episode got me really stoked for this season. this is the only show that can continue to surprise me with how well it is written.

You can't buy any tapes as it was never official released on VHS and I doubt fansubs on tape are still available. The HK bootlegs aren't that bad, all things considered, but Central Anime is doing a much better job.

Also, looky at what I found at my local independently-owned anime shop:

Season III Soundtrack Box - basically three CDs worth of classical music sandwiched between the OP and the ED. The booklet is pretty nifty too, I'll see if I can scan it if anyone is interested.

I'd love to see it :)

On a related note, how much LoGH stuff in print is out there? Was their a manga (or one made after)?

I saw a manga that was at least 13 volumes long in a Book-Off, but I already had too many books at the time and the art didn't look too hot, so I passed it over.

I bought seven volumes of the manga and am still looking for the other volumes in different book-offs whenever I have time. I haven't had luck finding more of it at this point, but I am looking up north and not really in a big city.

I like both the art and the story in the manga and it's quite easy to read for being LoGH!

I note that Uberfrog only mentions the two proper movies here. This is good, because the other movie is really, really bad, and pretty much takes a poo poo upon everything that makes the series good.

At this rate it will only be another 6 months before Man of Wax can make a new thread entitled "More people should watch Legend of Galactic Heroes because they finally finished subbing it."

I guess the events of the previous episode were inevitable, but you get the feeling that the events in it were way more stressful for the Kaiser, than say, conquering the western half of the galaxy was?

Looks like I'm jumping on this way late, alot of the episodes on scarywater are hardly seeded anymore and it's going to take forever to download it all. Has anyone thought of compiling all the episodes into one big torrent for the guys like me that only recently caught on to how great this is?

I'm going on deployment here in like a month and I need something to help pass the time :((aside from porn and books)

Well, I've got all the torrents lined up but since they had to wait for some other ones to finish they only just started. I've only got 1-4 and 5-8 d/ling, and both are pretty slow, under 5k/sec for the first pack and under 2k/sec for the second one. I suppose that those would be the ones to jump on.

edit: Episodes 5-8 complete, Episodes 1-4 50%, 9-12 and 13-16 >10%

I'd help seed but I renamed all the early ones to match the later naming conventions.. I'd recommend you force start LOGH torrents since you aren't going to get a good rate anyways.

I figured as much. I've had the first 16 or so episodes grinding along ever so slowly for a while now. At least 1-4 are almost done so I can start watching soon.

update: Oh God, somebody please jump on 1-4. It's been on 99.99% for a day and a half and hasn't moved at all since

Ha. I'm just glad that CA didn't do a literal translation of the Republican anthem. It was silly enough hearing Poplan sing about how a frog would make us flee.

Fuckin' A. We need to do some kind of time-warp back to the Eighties, when anime was made for MEN and not for early-teenage boys.

The human gallbladder is indeed a puzzle!
In my opinion LOGH offers much more "epic" feeling than everything out there since (anime\movies\books you name it) its release, even tops Starwars if you remove the whole Jedi myth surrounding the movies and expanded universe products.
I remember watching it in 95 on one of the non cable national tv here, but back then the school ended one hour after the show started. so i programmed my good old vhs player for whole year and almost lost my mind when movers said they accidentally dropped a refrigator on 20+ VHS tapes containing 30 odd episodes of LOGH, Space Adventure Cobra and original Macross season one! Only thing left from that insanely absurd destruction is two tapes of Power Rangers episodes...

Anyway, its good to know there is fansubs for LOGH, now i can watch 3rd and 4th seasons which i managed to avoid all but some minor spoilers about them. Its good to know many people enjoys LOGH as much as i do.
