I've been playing around with the website, and it should be a lot simpler to add a request now (no understanding of wikitext required!) There's a form at http://tinyappz.com/wiki/Add_Request that will add a new request to the list.

Unfortunately, this change also makes it a bit more difficult to fill a request (but not much more.) Each request now has it's own page in the Request namespace. The Open Requests list is now dynamically generated.

To fill a request, you now need to go to the page for that request (from the # link in the Open Request list) and add a "filled" variable to the Request template.

For example:
code:
{{Request
|requester = User
|request = The text of the request
}}
is filled like this

code:
{{Request
|filled = Application Name
|requester = User
|request = The text of the request
}}
I hope that's not too complicated. It seemed like a good tradeoff for the benefits - simpler request adding, retaining old requests, each request gets it's own page (add the page to your watchlist to get an email when the request is filled) etc.

I may look into creating a more automated way to fill a request as well, but this is a good start.

Would it be in bad form to request a second one?

If not, I would love to see this as well: A Firefox extension that allows uploading pictures to multiple hosts, ideally as many of the popular ones as possible (waffle, imageshark, photobucket, imagesocket, etc.)

This is what I want:

I want it so I can post pictures on other forums besides SA just as easily.:3:

Edit: I didn't add it to the wiki because I didn't know if it would be cool to have 2 open requests. If it's not cool then just ignore this post.

I don't know where you're getting this 2 request rule. I'd rather have as many requests as possible, that way I can cherry pick the interesting ones (or at least the ones I think I can do.) I wouldn't be surprised if the other contributers agree. Even if they don't agree, it's my thread :yarr:

well, I haven't really done any research, but http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/Step1.aspx provides a quick interface if you can use IE. Here's the same thing cropped down to the bare bones, might work off a thumb drive, depending on your permissions. http://www.tinyappz.com/wiki/Image:ClearType.zip . I'm not going to call this a filled request, because there's probably a much better way - maybe at least an interface to the dll that doesn't require IE.

I just didn't want to sound like an rear end in a top hat, "WORK MY LITTLE PROGRAMMING BITCHES!"

It seems like a VU meter would be fairly easy thing to do since it's pretty simple on the hardware level too. There isn't a lot going on to do that. But then again, all I know of programming is some Java and stupid little batch files.

I've always wanted a program that when you press CTRL+PRT SCRN, it screenshots your screen, then automatically uploads the screenshot to image shack. Also if you press CTRL+ALT+PRT SCRN, it'd take a screenshot of the window you have active and upload it. I'm not sure how hard this would be, but if it would be easy, I'd be greatful. :)

Instead of having to click on a folder every time you make a new folder, it would be easier to have a pop up where you can name your folder. Yes I know that the focus is on the folder when you create it, but having the pop up is better / more intuitive.

If your keyboard has a Context Menu button (usually in between alt + ctrl on the right hand side) you can press that, then M and you enter rename mode on whatever file you currently have highlighted. Not what you were looking for exactly, but a whole application may be overkill.

Heh, yeah now that I look at his request I see that it's basically exactly what he's looking for. Unfortunately, JediConsole has quite a few problems (as you could expect from a dev cycle of one day) and could really stand to be rewritten.

Another tool that is similarly executed is the command bar that integrates into Windows Explorer:

Someone posted this request here for an app that changed the mac address on a certain time interval. Couldn't find that request as a post here in this thread, but there is actually a program with which you can change your MAC to a random value: http://devices.natetrue.com/macshift/.

You'd just have to schedule this using the Windows Task Scheduler and voilà, there's your app. :)

(Hope whoever posted it is going to read this, if not.. Should I actually post this as a solution on the site?)

Ahh.

Perhaps you might know about this function but it is constantly returning 0/NULL and I don't know why. I tried to import GetLastError() but that is also returning 0.
code:
KeyboardHook = new HookProc(this.KeyboardProc);
hKbHook = SetWindowsHookEx(WH_KEYBOARD_LL, KeyboardHook,
     Marshal.GetHINSTANCE(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetModules()[0]), 0);
Any ideas?

Offhand, without seeing the rest of the code, no. But I can refer you to this:

http://www.pinvoke.net/default.aspx/user32/SetWindowsHookEx.html

quote:

Remember to keep the HookProc delegate alive manually, such as using a class member as shown in the example below, otherwise the garbage collector will clean up your hook delegate eventually, resulting in your code throwing a System.NullReferenceException.

I am looking for a program that will either compare an archive to a txt file, or from crawling a website. To see what I mean, go here http://www.mameworld.net/maws/ and hit search. It lists a bunch of files. What I would like is for it to compare a folder full of zip files, with the file names on that website, and if it doesn't find it on that website, it moves said file to a subdirectory.

Pretty much I made a mame cabinet, but only have two buttons. I have all the games, but it would take a really long time to sort through them one by one to check and see if it's on the list or not.

How about an image program. I've got a directory full of single page tiff files like so:

001a.tiff 001b.tiff 002a.tiff 002b.tiff etc, etc.

I'd like to be able run a command-line program that will let me combine all of these single page tiff files into one single multi-page tiff file or pdf document. Like so:

combinetiff.exe c:\images\*.tiff c:\output\big.tiff or combinetiff.exe c:\images\*.tiff c:\output\big.pdf

There are also some jpgs that I'd like to do this for as well but the tiffs are my primary concern.

It also keeps daily/weekly/monthly stats and pops up a warning when you're approaching some user-defined monthly limit. I haven't found anything like it for OSX yet :(
