This is a bit vague, but I saw this when I was about 10: A guy (possibly with wife/girlfriend) is stuck in traffic on a freeway at night. He gets impatient and drives through a barrier to get around the jam and ends up in the city slums, where his car breaks down and he ends up being chased on foot through the slums by gangs (and possibly a psycho cop) while trying to get back to the "civilized" part of the city. This was probably from the 80's or early 90's, but isnt Falling Down. Thanks.

Probably not, but could it be Into the Night with Jeff Goldblum? Not nearly as serious as Falling Down, but it might be something like what you're talking about.

Sounds exactly like Judgment Night, except that it's a half dozen guys in an rv.

Some movies I saw as a child that I hardly remember anything about.

The first one features a young man having to battle God, Death or Satan or something. The hero is up against some higher power and has to answer questions and play games. At one point the question is ''What are some other names for the Devil''. At that point he remembers a talking cat (I think his aunt's familiar or something) saying a long list of three demonic names that start with an A, three with a B (including Beelzebub) and three with a C. The cat did this earlier in the movie, when he visited. So he answers the question. Possibly there was a game of chess or checkers involved, with floating gold pieces. But I'm a 100% sure about the question and the flashback to the cat containing the answer. I know there's a talking cat in it, but it's NOT Sabrina.

The second one is about a girl, I think she slips into a coma or something, ending up in a fantasy world. There is a red wooden soldier, but he's alive and he's bigger than her, defending a village from monsters that look made out of mud and branches or something. The town has more of these fantasy characters and the girl reminded me of Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz.

I doubt it, it's more obscure and older. I saw it on TV right after cartoons, the movie was meant for children. The red soldier looked like a nutcracker, but he had a high black hat.

speaking of the Blob remake how did that one end? I think in the original they freeze it as they can't destroy it, only contain it (communism anyone?)

And speaking of Vietnam, I saw this bad movie/tv movie in a High School English class about this ditzy blonde chick who wants to know more about her Vietnam vet dad (not sure if he died or survived). It has scenes of her reading his letters by a campfire and cuts to flashbacks of him as a young guy doing VO narration. They blow up an artificial snow blowing truck to flash freeze the whole thing after it has grown way big. Frozen into crystals, they plan to pack it in ice.

Meanwhile, the priest, wounded by fire and half crazy, has collected a number of the frozen shards from an earlier brief freezing encounter and locked them in a jar. Sometime later, he's shown preaching at a religious revival tent and is approached by a lady asking when the end times were coming. He looks at the thawed and quite active little blob in the jar and tells her it'll be "soon".

OK, here's something relatively recent (past 5-7 yrs or so?). I remember a doctor who has emigrated from Africa and is driving a taxi to raise enough money to bring over the rest of his family. He works such long hours that he's forced to buy some sort of herbal stimulant to stay awake. The only other detail I can recall is at the end: he (or someone else?) recites some remarkable lines about the working class and/or immigrants - something like: "We clean your streets, we drive your cabs, we...etc.).

Nothing's wrong. Nothing is wrong. Everything is on track.
I need help with a kung-fu movie. It basically is about a guy who ends up fighting this main bad guy (who uses this "toad"-style of fighting) in a U-shaped apartment complex. He's nearly killed by the guy, but his family binds him all up and heals him, and he ends up becoming 'the one', and delivers this final blow where the toad dude is compressed into the ground in this impression shaped like a hand.

It's pretty well known, I think, came out around the time of Ong Bak, but I can't remember the name for the life of me. :(

edit: HAHAHA.. jesus, it's called 'Kung Fu Hustle'.

I only saw the one scene, it looked pretty cool so I want to see the rest.
I know for a fact that it's sci-fi, because it was part of Film Four's (UK) sci-fi run of films.

Basically, a guy goes into a room full of other people, all dressed business like. They all sit there and the old guy at the front giving the business presentation drones on and on, sending them into a state of hypnosis, except for the protagonist who we keep seeing who is somehow aware of what's going on. When everyone is hypnotised, some white-coat people come in and put headsets on everybody, and check if anyone's not hypnotised by holding torches up to their eyes. after being brainwashed by the headsets, they are taken off and everyone is back in the room, woken up by the end of the business presentation, and nobody (except the protagonist) is any the wiser about the incident.
Please identify this film!

I've got two

I saw this on some channel like USA or TNT. This was some goofy 80's movie like Robocop where instead of being turned into an android the main character got turned into some kind of reanimated corpse that was sensitive to sunlight. I vaguely remember this film but he fought some crime bosses and at the end of the film his former partner was a badguy and got reanimated the same way and fought each other. That's about all I remember from it. I saw this movie when I was like 12, so I may just be hilariously misremembering one of the Darkman sequels.

The second movie I want to identify I remember more about. There's a female teacher and a bus full of children in I think Australia that gets hijacked and kidnapped by some guys with guns and animal masks. The teacher ends up rescuing the kids and there's one suspenseful scene where they all swim underwater in cave. This movie sticks out in my mind because it was on our local Fox affiliate and at some point showed the woman topless on network television and I was very confused.

I remember seeing an old ninja movie (I'd date it 80s, early 90s) on tv, basically first scene I started from was this little asian kid and he fights with this blonde white woman for some reason (I think she was wearing red). Later they are captured by big boss man and she's apparently his protector now because she's distraught when they put him in a pool/spa thing and shoot water jets at him. Another scene the kid fights some dumb thug and at one point points outside a window and goes "look superman!" and the guy looks, and he hits him

The climactic scene is the hero ninja fighting a bad ninja on the roof. I may or may not be mixing this with some other American Ninja movie but I think the bad ninja has a metal mask on and one of them uses a chain weapon at some point, and one of them loving shoots fire out of his hands

Alright I have two I can't remember from when I was much younger:

1. I only remember the image of this dude sitting and twirling these three glass balls in one hand.

2. The other movie I remember a little more of: A family is on a road trip and they get arrested in some hick town for running a stop sign. They get taken to see the town judge and he's about to let them go when he discovers that the main character (who I remember was played by a tall actor, possibly wearing a white suit in the film) is a banker. The judge really hated bankers or something so he sentences the family to death.

I was walking past our local independent movie theater today and I next to a poster for "Year of the Dog" there was a poster for a movie where a person was being held up by a huge tentacle thing coming out of a body of water.

I really wanted to research it when I got home but I forgot the name. It was something really simple. One word, or maybe it was "The X"... It's driving me nuts because the poster with quotes from legit sources praising it to hell and back. I think there was a new york times quote which flat out said "the best horror movie ever made" or some such hyperbole.

It's driving me nuts because I love the horror genre but I hate most of the new flicks that come out. Any help would be mega-dank.

My sister has been trying to figure out the name of a family movie she saw in the late 1990s when she was in middle school. She thinks Tim Curry stars in it but she's not sure if she's mistaking him for another actor.

This is as much she she can remember: The main character was a blond boy who wore glasses. He lived with his ill grandmother because his parents had recently died. The boy had a pet rat and they stayed in a hotel. His grandmother told him stories about the witches that lived there - it turned out that the witches had meetings at their hotel. The kid spies on them during a seminar and witnesses them turn a little boy into a rat. The kid who got turned into a rat was a fat boy who ate a lot. And then later in the movie the blond boy gets scolded by Tim Curry (?) for having two rats.

Any ideas?

Ok I'll bite.

The movie was about a robot that goes crazy and kills starts killing people (original!)
I remember it being a simple robot, I specifically remember it crushing a guy under a car, swinging a saw blade into someones leg(?), and keeping a mother trapped in a corner with a bunch of lasers.

Saw the movie on TV, i'd say....10 years ago?

Big thanks to anyone who knows this, it's been slowly eating away at the back of my brain for years now
