If you want some stellar foot cam shots, I think the video is called "The Drift Bible" or something like that. I forget who the driver is, some guy who is pretty famous for drifting. While I have no intention of ever doing any of the things in the video, it's fun as hell to watch.

random culchie posted:Heel-toe acceleration, shifting without clutch dusting the breaks before corners. I heel-toe rev-match multiple times a day, even when commuting. I never ever downshift without some sort of rev-matching. Driving is more fun that way. All the extra practice means I can have any combination of inputs from the three pedals, despite having only two feet. Shifting without the clutch is personal preference, though most people refrain from it to save their transmission. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9g9d9G3NaYc This guy on a local rotary forum has started making and selling gilmour belts. Previously the easiest way to get gilmour belts and pulleys for rotarys was to import them from a place in aussie. The aussie place stopped exporting them, so this guy made his own to sell. He made them twice as wide to make them "skream like a filthy skool girl". I thought the aussie gilmours were loud, these are just crazy.

random culchie posted:Heel-toe acceleration, shifting without clutch dusting the breaks before corners. I heel-toe all the time, it's pretty much a reflex for me now. Shifting without a clutch? I've done it a few times when I lost hydralics in the clutch system, but otherwise you're right, I don't have the equipment to manage that yet. I actually have to use the clutch. I would say that is even more pedal movement, wouldn't you? And no, I don't tap the brakes before corners I already mentioned that in my first post. That didn't seem like anything to be about. I agree with the posts above, those crazy drift/touge guys really work those foot pedals. So do the rally cross guys. notro man fucked around with this message at 01:12 on May 24, 2007 |

I think I remember hearing that a good portion of gilmer-drive belt whine can be eliminated by drilling a hole in each negative tooth on the pulley along the centerline of the belt. Supposedly, this allows enough air to escape that the sound is less prominent.
