Yeah but they're kinda boring and generic as they're normally drawn, which is no doubt part of why Pazio did up their own version for pathfinder.

Heh, I was thinking the same thing. He's the only character, period, that I don't want to strangle. Intelligent, calm and collected, doesn't have his head up his rear end, and doesn't think he's talking to god on a two-way radio.

And of course knowing the writer's track record with Nice Things, we'll find out five issues in that Vinnie is a homopedonecrophiliac.

Your loyal assistant Dr. Meowgon is all over this one.

Is Ansom dressed like Super Dave?

I'm enjoying the more actiony strips of Erfworld than the talking heads one. I really think the klog pages were a terrible idea on the creators part to try and stuff in too much information that they thought we needed to know.

I think they'd have been fine if they stuck to the update schedule. Since they don't, getting one of those feels like getting cheated out of a regular comic.

Honestly, most of Erfworld's problems would be fixed by a consistent schedule.

Ansom is dressed as Evel Kenevel.

The "klog" pages were, basically, filler for the days when the artist wasn't able to maintain the schedule (apparently he got married. The nerve!)

Comments: I couldn't figure out what was going on in that second-to-last line, until I realized that it was the two Woodsy Elves looking through the hole that got poked through their buddy's middle. Daaaamn... (Also, note that one guy buried under Dragon shite in the last panel...)

edit: Do the bats spot everything in the hex, or just the things that attack them? Because that could be the idea--the "slow" dragons just move up into the ring of hexes and wait; the "fast" dragons attack the column and then retreat to the ring. That way, the fast dragons don't have to fight when Ansom's troops move into the hex; the slow dragons can take over the job.

From what I've been getting out of it, they spot everything in *that hex* (and presumably a visibility radius around them which doesn't help in forest). Combat seems to happen on a level of hex-vs-hex, or at least invading units vs. all defenders in that hex, which is why putting all the units in a single giant stack would be a terrible idea (if, indeed, it's even possible, many game systems have limits on how big stacks can be, which often translates into a limit on how many units can fit in a hex.)

Judging from the map, it looks like units can only see one space into thick forest, and I suspect either enemy units in thick forest can't be seen unless you move into the hex (and get ganked) or unless you move next to the hex (and get attack-of-opportunity ganked). If it didn't necessitate potential ganking, there would have been no reason to lose the bats.

Summary: Ansom isn't going to know what's in the center hex until he beats down one of the surrounding groups and, even worse for him, moves into the center hex. It is entirely possible that this turn will end with his reserve forces in the worst position imaginable, namely, surrounded entirely by dragons (dwagons lol).

Yeah, I'm sure Stanley's ability to make dragons swarm around and threaten to toast Parson was due to the Arkenhammer. In fact, for all we know, Gobwin Knob may not even produce dragons; he may only have them because of the Arkhenhammer.

(Or, if the "game" is anything like many other games of its type, like Heroes of Might and Magic, his town would only be producing one colour of dragon if it produced them at all. I'll bet him having several colours of dragon is due to the Arkenhammer.)
