Im looking for a simple gui program that I can create an html template with variables in. The program will allow me to add something like %link% to my template so I can quick change the page. Also the ability to add my or remove these variables from the program at will is needed. You may be asking yourself why I would need something like this. Basically I use the same html template to post galleries in wordpress. So this would help me alot instead of using find/replace in notepad++ Here is a sample of what id like to do code:
EDIT: Also the ability to save templates I made as editable presets would be awesome too. Since alot of the things I post are basically the same only with minor edits as well. DOUBLE EDIT: http://www.tinyappz.com/wiki/Request:1187378836 (note wiki code tags destroy my example formatting) BubbaGrace fucked around with this message at 20:39 on Aug 17, 2007 |

Just as a heads-up - I ended up writing a batch script for my needs (See http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?postid=331424405#post331424405 for my request). I also attempted to write a C# app, at first, but failed at the stage where I wanted to make the program function in any other way than just sitting there. If someone would like to expand my C# form into a program, like the script I've written, that'd be awesome. It's been a while since I programmed anything, and I'm guessing this would be easier done with VB or something instead of C++, so I'll ask here. I'd really appreciate it if someone could make me something like this: * Program outputs the contents of a text file * Runs in background/invisible until some hotkey (let's say, ctrl + tab, or whatever) is pressed, the same hotkey makes it invisible again after being pressed again * Resizable border. For extra style points, light blue background with a darker blue 1 pixel border, but that's optional. I'm gonna use this to keep track of poo poo I need to do, in case you're wondering.

Would it be possible to allow me to maximize, minimize and restore the application? I don't know if .net has something against that or what, but it would be helpful. EDIT: I see I can do this via the taskbar but not the main window. You don't have to add it, no big deal. BubbaGrace fucked around with this message at 10:56 on Aug 21, 2007 |

A Firefox extension which opens all links on the current page matching a user-defined regex in new tabs. I run a university forum and often would like to read all new replies for a given subforum. Currently I have to middle-click a bunch (sometimes 30+) of "go to newest post" little picture links on the 'new posts' page. Wiki post

I thought of an interesting idea for a small program to use with my Zen Stone. It's only a 1gig player, so I would like a program that I could use to upload random MP3s until it's full, with the option to delete the entire contents of the MP3 player when the program is first run. I guess it would only have to consist of specifying the drive (Zen is MSC), and then your music folder (ideally it would search down through folders already), and a checkbox to delete any music currently present. A rough text outline of the flow would be: Run program Select the directory for the Zen and the music directory. Program deletes current content (optional) Program searches entire folder tree Program uploads songs at random from folder tree until the Zen is full. Is this a simple enough project for tinyappz?

I would like to request an apllication that goes through an html document, and grabs out any urls in that document (anything starting with [url]http://[/url] or [url]https://;[/url] and then puts those urls on one line of a text file called 'bookmarks.dir' in the same folder as the application. You would ideally specify the html document to be used in a command line parameter to the script.

I would like an app that allows me to continue playing a Windows minesweeper game even after I lost. This would, among other things, require finding where, in the RAM, the mine locations are shown and changing them to unclicked squares.

Not sure how "tiny" this app would be, but the idea seems fairly simple. What I would like is an app that if I am sent an instant message over msn it sends my phone a txt message telling me so and possibly the instant message text.

Most of the major IM providers can forward messages to your phone. I know it is possible with AIM. Moreover, you may be able to manually do this with an email redirector. Most cell carriers have an email->text redirector. eg: 8005551212@vtext.com (verizon) will send a text message to handset 800-555-1212.

Ok, so my broadband connection can get pretty crappy at times, and I'd really like an app that I can run in the system tray, so I forget it's running, that will let me know when it went down and for how long. I guess the easiest way to do this would be to ping, say, google.com every 30 seconds or so, and then record the time and date into some kind of text file, when a couple of ping requests don't make it through, and then record when they started getting through again. If there's a simpler method, then that's cool.

Not really a tiny app, but I was wondering if someone here wrote a TCP connection class for .NET that would let me easily connect to a TCP server and send data, and receive data as well? I'm trying to telnet to a router and send a command, then other commands depending on the reply. If anyone has such a thing, can you upload it somewhere please?
