Mad Sunday IOMTT 2006, 2004 R1. This guys suspension seems to be way too soft and his throttle inputs are really sloppy.

bung posted:Mad Sunday IOMTT 2006, 2004 R1. This guys suspension seems to be way too soft and his throttle inputs are really sloppy. Him almost running off the road at about 35 seconds in made me cringe. You can watch him target fixate and go straight for the edge of the road. I'm not sure if he's just putting around, or what...the bike never really makes it into the top part of the powerband, from what i watched and the 5v/cylinder genesis engines make for fairly high strung literbikes. Then again, i don't know if you can really go balls out on mad sunday. And watching the suspension dive as he smacks the throttle open and then shut and then back open made me cringe, over and over. If you can't go super fast why not shoot for riding smoothly with good lines? Also, holy no rev match downshifts. Edit: Having watched it more now, it's sort of comical to watch the bike in front of him still on the gas, pulling away, while he's stuck on partial throttle. And getting passed by the Pizza Delievery guy at about 6m... And a bit later he revs it a bit higher. Even still...kinda scary to watch. Smooth is good. Jerky on and off the throttle is bad. Hotbodies, i believe, already does and has been for quite awhile. I believe they're sold through the dennis kirk catalog. Gotta shows off the chrome oil filter yooooo. Kidding aside though, apparently they're marketed for racers who crash a lot and you can just shoot the inside with black spraypaint and never have to repaint it...

I've heard that explanation too, but its just like a ton of clear coat. Even some scuffs will still show up, so I don't really see the advantage. I know race bikes don't need to look look super fly, and everything is already plastic anyway so its not like you need the paint to prevent rusting or whatever so... Just like if you had an assload of clearcoat, you could just run a buffer over it for a while, and it will eventually look like new.

My race bike will just get another coat of flat black every time i crash. Which, incidentally, may be happening soon, and i will be absolutely sure to post up some pics and the like when it comes

Guess I'll throw up pic of my bike. Most can't tell by looking, but we're kinda like that one couple you know thats always worn out and fights alot, but then you stay over one night cause you're too drunk to get home and you realize its ok just cause all the hot, hot sex. For some reason I love moto gp crashes, but only when its not my rider in them or its old. When I see poo poo happen live to my favorites I die a little inside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT7_zJp6_Ec

Portable591 posted:http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/N...m/?&R=EPI-94700 I like these kind of tests, but it seems to me the bike will always win. The lines are so different that only a brilliant crazy man or an rear end hole would pass a bike anywhere but on the straight, which has been pretty much proven they can't do anyway. Keeping the bike in back of you isn't that hard if you don't mind ignoring your line and taking up the road, but you end up with some pretty slow times, I see this happening most often. I don't know how old this is, so I can't be certain it isn't an r1 since I don't really recognize it, but I heard the announcer say yamaha so whatever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxz4j94Dvuk
