I have had a song stuck in my head and it is driving me crazy and I only have a very vague recollection of it so I hope I will be able to explain it well enough. It's a early to mid 90's alt/rock song that seems to remind me of something along the lines of the Violent Femmes. It carries a lot of nostalgia and the only lyrics I can remember is something along the lines of "only happy when it rains" and something about "going outside" I google searched the lyrics and only saw something by Garbage, and that isn't it. Any ideas?

I've been trying to find out the name of this song for a couple weeks now. The only part I remember is where the guy goes "do do do do do do.... woaaah". I'm fairly certain it's a 90's song. Extensive googling has shown me there are a lot of songs using do and woah. One of the more frustrating ones to find is a song called do's and woah's. Just for reference here's what it sounds like. http://rapidshare.com/files/65652097/sample.mp3

My mother is trying to recollect a song but googling didn't work. There isn't a lot to go on but anyways: -She thinks it is a 60s or 70s song by an American male singer. -The main gist of the song is a young guy in his teens meets a mysterious older woman on the beach during summer. He is just a teenage boy, spends the night with this woman and in the morning he's a man. He never sees her again. The song is like a guy telling this story of his past; kinda corny like. -The song is apparently a slow ballad, "evocative" and "atmospheric" with "possibly the sound of crashing waves". I suggest she just saw a porn like this but she insists it is a song she heard. Any ideas?

Argh got another one. I know its a cover of the bryan adams song 'Run to you' but the music video is a chic singing it in a dance/electronica type style and they never had her name in the credits at the end of the video. The video was at like a drag or formula race track. help appreciated as always goons Ack found it a minute after posting. It's an old funk song. Female singer. Heavy funk. Some of the lyrics: "Do me baby. Do me like you wanna." And: "Love aint nuthin, but another thang..." Google mostly turned up Janet Jackson.

He sings pretty fast, and the song is essentially about all the self doubt and anxiety about being a singer and how you might not live up to expectations etc, and it culminates with him asking the guy if he is indeed the famous singer, and he takes him and beats him up and leaves him for dead.

This is driving me nuts but- I can not find the Halo 3/Xbox 360 comercial where they assemble a couch, tv, an xbox, and halo 3 in the middle of a sidewalk. They swoop in on parachutes, catch the xbox 360 with a blanket, put it all together, and then run off before anyone can say anything. The commercial ends with 2 twentysomethings looking at eachother loving like and a halo 3 loading screen. I'd would like to know the song that plays during this commercial. It sounds like it's sung by children. "Nothing, but a good life, will get me out of here." Something like that.

I heard a song today on KROQ Los Angeles, around 2pm this afternoon. It was a roots reggae song, and the only lyric I could pick out is something like "This is Jah rock," or "This is jam rock." This was what I believe to be the chorus. Any ideas? KROQ aren't picking up their phone, and their website is useless.

I remember listening to a song at my mate's between 2000 and 2002 and it's been bugging me for years. It was some sort of pop-punk thing or possibly something similar to Everclear or Ninedays, and it had a lyric which sounded like 'Just look at you now, what's in a name?'. I know at the time he was listening to a lot of Less Than Jake, Smashing Pumpkins, Stabbing Westward, Blink 182 and the two aforementioned bands, if that helps. That's all I can remember, the useless bastard doesn't remember what song it is even if I sing it at him and a lyrics search has turned up nowt. edit: I'm guessing slightly at the years here, but I remember it was in my early teens, so around then, give or take a year.

I've got sort of a weird one -- it's a song from the early to mid '80s that tended to pop up in the vast majority of "upbeat comedies" that made it to the movie screens around those times. Unfortunately, I don't remember the lyrics or the vocal melody, but the main "theme" of the song was a synthesizer riff that used a similar vocal-sounding "uck" patch as the Nu Shoes song "I Can't Wait" that was also popular at the time the song was around 120 bpm and relentlessly upbeat and here is the main melody as best as i remember it. any ideas? code:

I'm looking for a song which I think is by the Chemical Brothers, but I can't find anything online to back this up whatsoever. I can't remember any of the words, but: 1) The video is in black and white 2) The vocals are done by a female singer, who is also in the video. I have a hunch she is Canadian. 3) Most significantly, the video features a lot of Cossack dancers. It starts in some sort of Cossack tavern or something. This is doing my head in I know it's not much to go on, but can anyone help? edit: found it, Bassment Jaxx: Take me home! duckmaster fucked around with this message at 03:01 on Nov 2, 2007 |

I hope this is the right place for this, I'm trying to think of the name for a subgenre of music. It was basically a set of rules around 2000 (I think) with things that emphasized the machine making the music, not the people. Things like no human voices, that kind of thing. I want to say it was called dog00, but that's not right. Is this enough for anyone to figure out what I'm talking about?
